Maybe this is how it works. So firstly the Chromebook Ports Is giving voltage to the usb c cable, then secondly you charge it on the charging port, and thirdly the usb port on Chromebook’s is giving voltage to the charging port. Press like on my comment if this sounded like it was helpful
