Hi I saw this video.

What is the optical illusion that means you can be travelling at one speed and object could be moving all but look stationary.

A friend had an incident at work that he was driving 90degrees to an aircraft and passing behind it. he was travelling about 2-3 times the speed if not more than the aircraft was reversing of the gate and this cause the aircraft to appear stationary when they we both moving at 90 degrees to eachother at different speed.

I that the same as described in this video?? because He and aircraft were moving in different directions creating an illusion the aircraft??
