So, linguists have actually said for years that the accent that Shakespearean English would have sounded like is closer to the Appalachian accent the modern-day english. So ironically Shakespeare in a Southern accent would actually be closer to authentic then listening to someone such as the great Sir Patrick Stewart speak it.
