If you wait too long to fix the nose it can heal incorrectly. Typically what happens in the face is that the nose won’t heal for a period of 7 to 15 days. By the end of the 5th or 7th day the fractured ends begin to become sticky or what it means is that bone starts to heal. If you wait too long the bone will heal in awkward position. This healing period goes on anywhere from 7 days to 3 months. So if you go visit a doctor during this time he may not be able to do much or if he attempts to straighten out it will spring back to the way it was at the time of the accident. Any attempt to force the nose back into position can re-fracture the nose or it can cause some more fractures to happen in the nose. So either you get it treated from day 1 to day 7 or wait for 4 months to 6 months, and then go back. We will re-assess you and then decide if you can get your nose fixed by a corrective surgery.

Please be honest, will a broken nose ever be the same? Mine is straight and thankfully didn’t get bent or crooked during the incident, but I’m not sure if it looks the same...

I went to A and E on the day my nose broke and I was told to come back 9 months later.. it has now been well over a year since I broke my nose and I am still waiting to have it corrected, does this mean I will never have my old nose? I can barely breathe as it is.

By the time i get my close reduction surgery it was the 2nd week and the doctor says he fix my nose back cause it was a minimal fracture
