The cycle of boycott campaigns is just not going to end when it comes to #bollywood movies and we wonder why they don't really take risks regarding storytelling and concepts. While #laalsinghchaddha has faced the wrath for eternity, #rakshabandhan joins the party as well, being a part of a boycott campaign on twitter against its writer. Will #aamirkhan and #akshaykumar deliver with their movies? I guess we will have to wait and find out! Here are my thoughts on the Boycott Laal Singh Chaddha & boycott Raksha Bandhan movements online!

Amir has the democratic right to express his true feelings but netizens deciding to boycott his movies are “ vile”. - A bollywood brown noser.

Its like Kareena's remark on nepotism, "Do we force people to watch our films? Don't watch our films if we are nepo kids" and when the audience does the same it's about art and the crew and what not. I think the unapologetic and rude behavior of actors is responsible too for this kind of boycott. Its not the fault of audience only because they pay for actors playing on the screen and the entertainment. The audience is doing its job.

People are aware now and want to hit where it hurts the most. The majority understand the one-sided narrative. This Boycott has nothing to do with the film's story, acting, or makers. So discussing Boycott vs Film's quality is unfair.

Do you realize how arrogant one has to be when they do follow their religion properly ( going to Haj and all ) meet higher ups of a non friendly country that never looses a chance to attack our land, then lecturing or rather ridiculing someone else on their beliefs and customs mostly Hindus.
Don't you think this has been done systematically to target one community only or rather defending another community and showing them in good light. Why there is a problem when someone else is doing the same systematically.
Why Amir or any other big names of bollywood came out and said that dar ka mahol hai when a poor guy was beheaded on camera.
Again I will just be following Kareena's or Amir's word by not wasting my money on buying ticket better donate that to PMcare fund.
I also wanted to know from you, how else would you like people to show their discomfort or disagreement with something.
They make movies for people right and if people don't want to watch they won't, whatever their motivation for it maybe, either they just don't want watch the people associated with it or something else.

I agree that boycott culture has become quite famous nowadays but dont you people think that boycotting is the most peaceful way to show our disapproval or disappointment with someone.
This way our opinion reaches the masses without burning our country.

I simply don't want to watch these films. Why is everyone trying to shove these films down my throat so that i look secular and non toxic. Somebody boycotting these film is their own decision and they are just expressing their own thoughts online. Just because they put hard work in making some stuff ( copy paste) doesn't mean i should consume it even if i dont like it, just to honor their hard work.

As long as people are doing this peacefully there is nothing to rant about. If the movie is good then people will watch it. If its bad people will not watch it. Padmavat is the best example. Tbh any rant is unnecessary. Let people decide if they want to watch something or not.

Kareena ki bhasha me " Agar nahi dekhna tho mat dekho".

If somebody wants to boycott something let them do it's their choice. People are neither being forced to watch nor are they being forced not to watch. Don't presume only you are right and everybody else is wrong.

If Aamir khan has to right to express himself in democracy, the same applies to audience too. U should be appreciative of the same.

Freedom of Expression is a 2 sided sword...

When you promote anything and everything in the name of Freedom...remember it can be used againat you...now when a section of The Society wants to boycott something and dont want to watch...we have to respect their Choice...it's as simple as that...They are not Beheading someone...no Violance...just boycotting...

My hope about this country has increased after seeing the comments, finally people have woke up if we decide to boycott an industry which continuously mocks our culture and nation they have no right to call us intolerant, enough is enough, no left winger will ever support movies like kashmir files in the same fashion we will never watch movies with anti hindu actors no matter how good the movie is period!!!

Freedom of speech & expression, It is a double edge sword . When You mock One religion in name of that, being rich & powerful giving statement like " dar lagta hai India me ab ", visiting a country and meeting it's top brass which is funding militancy in Kashmir all that in name of free speech & expression . Now people are using the same right, they didn't like your action and words, they cannot confront these big stars only thing they can do is not watching a movie ( which rightly said by Kareena Kapoor Khan, if you don't want to see don't go ) .
Those were different time when you came on television giving interview to famous anchor & channel, helding CM of one state responsible for riots (no verdict by court by that time ) and people will not remember after some time . Now people do, news spread like wild fire, Even small kid from village knows what he said .
& Bollywood has to amend its ways if you secularism than be secular but don't be hypocrite in name of secularism.

Hi Anmol
What I don’t understand is when you review movies of people like Vivek Agnihotri or Kangana Ranaut you specifically mention their “ideology”
But now when it is onto khans of Bollywood or those tweets made by Ms Dhillon you are trying to tell us to watch the movie, why should we
I don’t want to watch his movie whenever he goes outside Bharat he portrays our country as an unsafe land
Now That Dhillon girl, have you read her tweets, do you support her?

Aamir khan loves his country, that's why aamir khan was having a tea party with Turkish President and his wife just couple months after Turkish President openly said in United Nations, that kashmir is not part of india and said turkey will work with Pakistan to free kashmir, from "illegal occupation" of india.

Which india loving indian, will do that?

Not to mention, there was a government function to celebrate india-israel relations in which aamir khan was invited but india loving aamir khan refused to go.

"India loving" Aamir khan doesn't have a problem with having a tea party with Turkish President and his wife who are openly anti india, but have a problem with attending function to celebrate India-israel relationship.

Shows how much he actually loves india.

I am so happy to see that 95% of people here are aware now, it was not there 3 years 4 years ago, I am loving this. I already stopped watching Bollywood 10 years before or more may be, I never liked them, so I moved to different industries, Hollywood mostly, but now south Indian movies are winning heart, it's not about actor's religion but what opinions they propagate under their propaganda, Kamal Hassan was fantastic in Vikram, and I liked it, but if Kamal Hassan says something negative about hinduism or starts interfering in politics, I will stop watching, when I will feel it's wrong, but if he stays on center and equally critisizes all religions and be on the good side of politics meaning saying good when something is good and saying bad when anything is bad, I won't mind anything. My fight is of equality.

I think we should leave it to the customers(Indians) if they want to boycott or watch. After all in any Business, CUSTOMERS are GOD, they made stars, so they've right to peacefully/lawful protest.

What have we come to ? The answer is We have come to a point of saturation and boredom about listening and agreeing again and again to a certain group of people who keep preaching us about us . Dont preach and dont teach us . We have the ability to understand the right and the wrong for us We know the difference between good quality and bad quality .No critic has to tell us about it nor Bollywood should tell us . If Bollywood is for entertainment then do it and go . Crack some jokes dance act and go home . Make sure the jokes aint hurting the majority .Make sure you are aware of public sensibilities. Bollywood wants to earn money not we . Bollywood should do the research and make films . Dont put the blame on the public and ask questions Wat have we come to .

I really want to pour out my heart on why people are calling for the boycotts.. but debates on internet are pointless..
I'm just following what our lord and saviour Amir Khan said..
I won't stop wasting 50rs milk on my mahadev.. so instead, I'm just not going to his movie.. saving about 500 per ticket and I'll will feed a couple of hungry kids.. 😊 and i strongly advise others to do the exact same thing..

Strongly disagree. People wanting to boycott these movies are as much entitled to their opinions as the ones that choose to align with a certain ideology are. Actors choose to align with and reject certain ideologies based on their very little intellect and audiences do the same. Either both sets are right or both are wrong. This forceful narrative that cinema MUST be universal is plain stupid. Also, if you really want to watch a piece on defying convenient spiritual beliefs, watch OMG by Umesh Shukla adapted from the successful play "Kanji viruddh Kanji". It is far more nuanced and layered, differentiating actual spirituality and subsequent vague practices unlike a slapstick simplistic money minting trashcan like PK.
