The DC-3 is the most well designed aircraft ever. They still carry heavy cargo daily in Alaska. Blows my mind.

The DC-3 is a beautiful airplane. And these birds are over 70 years old and still flying. In 2013 it was estimated that approximately 2, 000 DC-3s and military derivatives were still flying, a testament to the durability of the design.

Thats why tail wheel aircraft will always be king when it comes to real bush work. Nothing beats conventional gear for on the ground maneuverability

That’s a true BUSH pilot. I lived in Alaska for 33 years. Worked for 4 different airlines. 2-people/freight, mail. 2-all freight, mail. Those guys know what they’re doing, BELIEVE ME.
