Does any US EV manufacturer other than Tesla make a profit? You said most don’t… I believe all don’t except for Tesla.

MG cars are already on sale in Peru, and have been there for years!

The same situation in China. EVs don’t make money for manufacturers and buyers.

Please update your stock footage. Most of what you use looks like it came from 2004.

Wonder if Gary will mention Chinese EVs hit 50% share... Hmmm

Agree with Zipse that e-fuels are BS....but the only answer is to figure out how to make competitive EVs.

Mexico had become a hotspot for EV makers.

You are drinking the legacy Auto kool-aid. Tesla and some Chinese automakers are making profits with their EVs. Legacy will not get better until they point the finger at themselves and improve how they make EVs.

Global data forcasts that sales will higher than those not seen for the last 5+ years? Certainly not in the US. If vehicle prices continue their ascent (and lower-cost vehicle makers are excluded) the US, EU and Japan-based mega-featured, NHTSA-mandated “safe” cars will just be for the upper 30% of salaried workers.. Really, new car sales are going nowhere up long-term unless new vehicle costs get under control by some means.

Wait I thought the big three said marking EVs was simple, now they are getting their lazy butts kicked

Maybe for me this will go full circle, my 1st car was an MG Midget. I'd consider another MG from China---bring it!

China makes joint ventures usually mandatory and has/had high import tariffs. We need to defend and develop our industry to avoid total loss. Elon doesn’t care because Tesla is ahead now.

The Charger EV is what is going to save Dodge's ass. Even the little old lady from Pasadena is thinking about trading in her shiny red Super Stock dodge.

just a reminder today is 8/8/24 and the original deadline for the debut of the Tesla Robo-Taxi, a debut that has predictably been pushed off surprising NO ONE.

Companies should still push forward with their EV plans. The battery mining capacity, processing capacity, and cell production capacity are all going to be needed.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again. If car companies want to put EV production on hold, fine. But move forward with battery cell production. Sign agreements with semi truck makers and trailer manufacturers to let them buy that spare cell production for use as electrically-assisted trailers.

Electric trailers are going to be the future of trucking and long-distance towing for pickups too.

5:00 hand outs and hand outs and more hand outs, that's all the legacy OEMs do these days

If these domestically produced vehicles were priced liked Chinese EVs, they would be above 80% plant capacity utilization. Big difference in sales volume between $25, 000 vehicles and $50, 000 vehicles. They have to learn how to design and build vehicles that are less expensive to build, but still desirable and practical for consumers.

China also remained the #1 vehicle exporter by far in 1st half of 2024. most of their exports are ICE too.. so they have plenty of room to expand with EVs.

The Dodge EV charger looks like a family car. 😢

E-fuel and synthetic fuels are a joke! How cheaply can you make it.
How much additional farms and other materials will be destroyed by this.
Can you home charge from this. 😂

Chinese EVs are leading in technology, batteries, charging and some are making profits on EVs already. GM, Ford and Stellantis are falling further and further behind. Guess who is going to own the future?
