Here is the POWER requirement for 50 electric OTR trucks. To have fast charging for them it requires 5 megawatts of power to handle the draw when they need to be recharged. Most small towns do not have that kind of power reserve to handle that draw. Scheinder one of the largest OTR fleets bought 200 Electric Freightliners to replace 100 Diesel powered trucks in CA to run intermodal routes. They needed 20 megawatts of power at their terminal they assigned them to. Also the drivers need 2 trucks to run a shift instead of 1 truck a day as the trucks do not have enough range to run an entire shift.

This EV push is not based on factual and logical assessment!! There is not enough rare minerals to make the batteries for 100% EV cars! There also is not enough reserve electric generation capacity to recharge 100% of EV cars!!
