The biggest trap of working abroad is a better quality of life. Once you get used to it, its hard to come back 🙏

“The grapes are sour anyway!”
My 95% friends are abroad and I see them all happy, buying luxury cars, enjoying holidays, having great lifestyle.
Here in India at 45 degrees I'm going to the office, dirty lifestyle, toxic work culture and can't even afford Tata Tiago.
Moral of the story people going abroad by leaving India aren't idiots. They're earning 1000 times more in the same job than what you can in India.

The whole quality of life thing is subjective. There are pros and cons to living in both India and the US. For me, life inside the home is better in India. Having my people around me and access to affordable healthcare and house help are things that I miss about India. However, life outside the home is better in the US. The infrastructure is better, there are more things to do, and the general quality of life is higher.

It is always better to settle down in your country of birth. However, staying in US for around 5 to 10 years and bringing savings to your home country can make a huge difference in ones life.

My experience travel to US thru my company for longtime:

1. My Indian salary stuck where I left and upon return there only a correction applied which ended up me staying lot behind with my peers.

2. EPF contributions stopped and only resume upon return. It impacted huge due to compounding when I see the corpus today.

3. Huge social security paid in US and all of that money gone of no use to me.

So when I sum up today, what has lost weighs more than what has earned.

Not sure if I agree here, I've worked in corporate for 10 years in India before moving to North America. The work culture is massively toxic in India, where you are expected to be available at all times while giving massive amounts of work load. While here, in North America, everybody is respectful of your working hours and work life balance is heavily encouraged. I was literally burned out working in India while here I have ample time to pursue my hobbies outside work.

I graduated from top college in India. Worked with a top MNC in India..Work load was heavy . I did not care .. however I could not withstand toxic work culture, moved out to US @ age 27 . Here I had quality life, same work load . Enjoyed my life . Now @ age 48, I have a family with 2 kids, my wife practices medicine, we are settled, I attained US citizenship and only slight regret I have is I did not pursue higher education here in US. Even my parents were treated badly once by Indian immigration.. . Only good thing is people are nice back in India .Truth is I don’t regret any decision of moving out . Happy I took risk and relocated !! My advice get out of India if you can !!

I agree its a trap. After this trap people are habituated to stay there and the willingness to come back will reduce a lot. But after they realize they becomes old and kids grow older and in India there will be nobody for them to even recognize. So at the end of their life stage they feel like why i didn't go back to India when they got a chance. The same is shown in the film Dunki. By this time people should get mature like go abroad stay for some years and they should come back at any cost.

For this channel's audience its a a trap.
For a person who can afford 8.5 Cr or already has a business which can employ people in US its not a trap.
For people who's family and friends already rarely meet them as they want these people going abroad to make their own money and have a level playing field, its not a trap.
Choose wisely. Most important, zoom out and learn everything then make life decisions.

Very true came back from US after 13 yrs. I would suggest go abroad save a lot and live a FI life in India. If you end up living abroad you are trapped in the same mortgage cycle that you tried escaping in India. People keep grinding it away in US caz they never realize they were getting trapped. Also not everyone can manage to exit the chakravyuh!

It depends on case to case basis, country one is planning to go. I wouldn’t say freedom is much of an issues if you are with good employers.

Work-life balance, infrastructure, social security, free education, permanent residency, and the overall lifestyle are much better abroad. But all this comes with much hard work in the initial years and depends on the value you bring to the country.

You pay a lot of taxes in India for nothing, population, pollution, bad healthcare, adulterated food, terrible govt services. We have only 1 life, we should make the best of it
