You might often be sold the idea of jobs that can make you rich or jobs that can make you a millionaire. There are a few high-paying jobs everywhere, however, the corporate job reality is that these jobs are often not enough to make you rich. The annual salary growth might be great for a few senior executives, however, most people are not going to get a high salary in these corporate jobs. But being stuck in the middle class trap we often do not look beyond the immediate corporate job options available to us. Escaping rat race becomes are second priority once we start to believe that there are jobs that can make you rich or jobs that can make you a millionaire.

Many YouTubers have covered the middle class trap. Such as the middle class trap by Sandeep Maheshwari or the middle class trap by Pushkarraj Thakur are a few examples of people who have exposed the middle class mindset in the past. However, still most Indians live with the assumption that focusing on studies, cracking difficult exams, getting into great colleges, and then working for corporates is the way for them to become rich. The reality of corporate career is quite different. The dark side of corporate world which many Indians want to ignore is that jobs that can make you rich are often very few and most people are not going to get them.

This doesn’t mean there are no alternate methods for one to seek wealth. You can plan your career growth with more patience. Your career growth need not be like a company’s quarterly results report. Take it slow and start finding ways through which you can make more returns on your time or skill. Progressing through your career is important however it should not come at the cost of losing sleep over your career progress. On top of it, you can also start producing content, not for it to help you grow online, but to help you get some recognition and help you progress in your career more smoothly.

Unless you are an influencer, you do not need to focus on the likes and views as such at least in the early part of your career. The IT job reality that we often ignore is that it is never going to give you enough growth in the future. This dark side of IT Jobs or the dark side of IT industry is often overlooked because of the sheer number of people who have no other source of income except for getting into IT companies like TCS WIpro or Infosys. If you have a good personal brand, then this situation may be changed.

Middle class mindset may try to keep you from escaping rat race, however, you should always try to move beyond your regular 9-5 corporate job. Hope you find this video valuable, see you in the next one.

In India, the government doesn't tax the unorganised sector. Among the rest, business class gets the opportunity to pay minimum or low tax whereas the salaried class has to pay the maximum tax without any other alternatives. On top of that, low or no salary hike from the employers with no job security in case of private jobs.

The ladies tailor earns Rs 2000 per suit of stitch a ladies suit. Drainage cleaner charges Rs 1000 for Drainage claen.
IT people have become worse than the Drainage cleaner because the manager doesn't even approve Rs 300 shift allowance for working on holiday. Those people live life with dignity and IT professional are expected to be quiet even after being insulted.

Nowadays it has become trend to showcase jobs as low grade. I am 35 years old working in IT industry. I respect this field and job because, I come from lower class family from hyderabad.
I bought a flat, built an independent house and have 2 plot and I have only 15L homeloan on my flat and it's all from my job earnings.
It all depends on how you manage your salary from the beginning of your career. I always believed in living below my means...

sir - I am an engineer from late 70s from OU. I have consciously taken a decision in not pushing my son into engineering and i let him pursue his own career path. no heavens will fall on earth if one does not do engineering from IITs or an MBA from IIMs etc. The entire percentage of students who are out of IITs and IIMs is so minuscule or rather the other way - the non IITs and IIMs are in large numbers and are still able to make a living. yes dream cars, houses may not be in reach, but if all aspire for such a life style where does one end his "dreams". everyone [parents included] are running after excessive money or monetary goals and in the process the children are not able to live a normal life. maybe i am wrong, but money is important but not end all. regards

IT Employees needs to come together against exploitation.

Indian middle class should come out mediocrity.

We are loosing our power as a vote bank.
India has 6 million IT Employees, we need a common platform.

TBH, the bigger challenge than salary indexation is job security. Rather than looking for a field that has good hikes, the priority should be to identify a field that has long-term employability.

TBH, inflation is also not a right indicator. They say inflation is only 8%, but you certainly know that the prices on goods and services increased by double digits. So, people are actually drawing lesser salary than the previous year, when adjusted to the the increase in prices

Join new company with acquired new skill is an issue itself. Most companies see if we have relevant work ex in the 'new skill'. Doing a certification or gaining theory knowledge again puts us in the fresher bracket itself...if anyone faced same issue, or know the way lets discuss

Nice thanks for bringing out the reality of the corporate, i personally feel the complete Job Culture/structure needs a revamp...
it should be beneficial for both companies and people working for, and should completely eliminate the 9 - 5 working system.

6:45 that is one of the worst blunder we make. If you are going to do something then don't speak about it to an HR.

Great video as always, I do agree with you on keeping up with the trends to stay relevant in the corporate world. In my opinion, as long as we create value we can ensure a steady source of income no matter which field we are working in.
