Some of the biggest tells are the shape of the "U" in the logo, the gap in the U on the Shure is a thin line it seems the fakes can't achieve that and are far more horseshoe shaped. Also there is a "do not dispose" logo in the XLR connector on the Shure but not the fakes. Fakes have circles around the XLR pin numbers. Fakes often have a raised rim around the connector end where the Shure is smooth.

Great vid... also the male prongs underneath are gold, and it says SHURE in tiny writing in there on the real ones 👍

The real one on the left has like very slight sparkle to that gray color

Dear sir. Can you please measure the otiginal lenght? and answer here? maybe if you also have a scale (or a shop could help you with this) tell the wieght of the original. I was concerned I saw some models with three holes in the bottom of the metal grip, but your has two holes (one rounded hole and a extended gap). Unfortunately user manual of shure in internet displays 3 holes, so that confused me.

I am a litlle concerned about my new mic. Mine looks like the one on the left, only has a ver bad smell. I bought brand new, but from a store far away where I live (so received delivered by mail). Did your genuine mic had a bad smell one the grill ? (I guess it is the paint).

In addition to the metal color, the feel, the XLR pins being gold, then having the Shure logo underneath, another thing of note is a legit Shure microphone has yellow and green wires underneath the grille.

I'm intertested to hear that Sure sent it back to you; as I would have thought that legaly they'd have been within their rights to destroy it.

Hey, Yesterday I bought Shure Beta 58A.Its heavy, Logo looks ok and sound quality is good. But only thing I am concern is "the blue ring is loose and gets twisted". Is that mic is fake? I paid AUD $214.00 instead of AUD $249.00.Also, Beta 58A looks black colour instead of Blue.
