Thought I would post this lyric video since Mirror Man's lyrics seem to be the most debated. I think I got them pretty accurate though.

There's a theory that the dad was assaulted by the alcoholic mother and therefore looks terrible, scarred and cut, he is so disfigured he can't stand looking at himself, so he lives in a dream like Opal's dream on a good family, a dream where he looks good, a dream where everyone other than him are ugly, and he's the exception, a dream where he's special not for being ugly, but for being exceptionally beautiful.

I love the line "wanna be seen by someone out there." And the irony of the fact that he's singing that at Claire. A child who's greatest desire is to be SEEN by someone. Singing about how awful it feels not to be seen while looking right through Claire and depriving her of that very feeling of being seen. He's so caught up in his own self pity he thinks he's the only one with this problem. Unable to see how Claire is hurting and going on to hurt her the same way he's been hurt.

when you look at the thumbnail you realize the person were seeing the mirror is just how this guy sees him self. he doesnt see some anomaly or something like that because he just thinks he looks like some savior or god

He’s putting makeup on his eyes, perhaps to cover black eyes. You can see in a flash of the mother’s memory him calling 911 while she beats him in a drunken rage

Claire and him are very similar.
They both want to be seen, the only difference is that Claire sees the mirror man and the mirror man only sees himself.
Also, this is a personal theory, but I think he also lives in a dreamed up world just like Claire does.

Theory: He used to be normal and was applying for a job, he was abused brutally by the alcoholic wife and was turned down the job because of it. (They turned me down now I live my nightmare) kinda hinting toward something I assume.
