Do you realise that in many countries without sanctions, people avoid shopping malls as well?
Why waste time & petrol to go to overpriced shops when you can get all cheaper with next day home delivery, on line

Is not the same thing to have products of a brand being sold and the brand actually being in the country. Almost every sanctioned country in the world, people can almost always go to another country, buy the product and bring back to sell it. Cuba, Venezuela... it´s not like that will be a nike employee in the country border saying you cant enter that country with their products...

what people dont see, is that, once the brand is no longer there oficially, its also not investing, that means, it not paying advertisements, sponsorships, hiring people, investing in logistics, etc and thats worse for the country and actually good for the brand, because if the local brands have to compete with brands that are not putting any money back in the country, that will simply create an business environment were it doesnt worth to invest and produce anything in the country.

Thats why if you go to the border of countries who suffer sanctions, you wont find a brand employee saying that you cannot enter the country with their products, but you will see those country customs saying that. In the long run, Russia will have o start creating barriers to those imports

Hi Russ,
Thankyou for your excellent video for a foreigner from Rockingham.
Your videos have prompted my interest in Russia outside of the capital, place's like Omsk Oblast city which is a similar population to Perth, are shopping mall's and fast food chain's experiencing similar closures, Pete

Hey Russell. It is a very cleverly made shopping centre, but… I find it very stressful. It’s always busy and I feel a bit Claustrophobic (low down ceilings) . Did you get this feeling too? :)

I am sure normal Russians are not starving and may buy Russian produce in Russian Street shops - may not be sort of western malls - in India we do have normal indian markets though very little western stuff KFC, Macdonald, pizza hut - life goes on.

A successful shopping center should always be full, let alone in such a central area...

On the contrary, it actually should be "busier" because of the flower festival and the blue skies...

Does it really make sense of the woman comes to the flower festival and then doesn't go to that shopping center also... Both make them "feel" good

The Chanel stand looks empty - I wonder if that’s a ‘supply issue’ because of Covid

Hi Russell. Thanks for the videos. Is it "cool"/"OK" to walk around in Moscow and speak English or do you get negative feedback from the native population? Just curious ☺️.

Its quit funny if you pay attention on it, that almost every country in the world uses the English word 'SALE' ^^
