I still remember when the expected entry into service was 2021 lol

It's close to being almost nearly considered potentially ready at some point in the near future.

Project development times are so long now, the original 777 took only 6 years to go from concept to airline service. Taking 4 years to test an iteration of an existing design is wild

This aged well! Fleet is grounded again, probably for some time whilst they redesign and retest the thrust linkages.

Take your time, no rush Boeing. We all want to arrive safe!

If they do it right, this could really redeem their image by a huge margin. Take your time with this one Boeing, dot all the i's and cross the t's

I’ll be glad to see them finally getting delivered to airlines. I think I’d be great if Boeing came up with a -7X to better replace the -200’s.

Boeing flew this in and out of my local airport (KBIL) 3 times back to back last September and I just happened to be plane watching. Biggest planes normally are 767s/a300s for freight. Seeing that behemoth navigate the taxiways there was so cool. And the engine is larger around than the fuselage of the 737s that it taxied by. I’ve seen 747s, a380s and C5 Galaxies but those were not at a smaller regional airport.

It's insane how long the new X's are. Been watching them test outside my window for years.

Hi I’m a time traveller from the year 2163, I just wanted to let everyone know that 777X certification is almost done!

From official program launch in 2013 it will be 12 years to certification, if achieved in 2025. Let us just remind, that this is a further developed derivative of an already existing and certified aircraft. Airbus has accomplished to develop a completely new airliner (A350 as a competitor to the 787 and 777) in 10 years from official launch in 2004 to certification in 2014. Boeing could do these things in the past, too. The last Boeing 777 derivative, the -300ER was put into service within just four years. Way to go Boeing.

In an era when businessmen want to reduce government agencies to a minimum it is increasingly difficult to trust FAA., FDA, EPA etc. they’ve certified other Boeing models only to force their grounding later. FAA is just the tip of the iceberg because accidents are drastic but with regards to FDA and EPA they’re slowly taking the lives of many people to increase quarterly EPS.

hopefully its will blow everybodys mind when its in service or atleast deliver 90% of what they have advertised it to be and no more issues like 737max

Good that it's finally coming, but you won't see me on one until at least 2031. Boeing needs to do the most to regain my trust after all their other issues.

Finally, some good news I was waiting for the certification. I’m so happy right now I Can’t wait to see it in the sky.

The 777 is the last good jet they built. Let’s hope they don’t botch it with the 777x.

Considering their recent track record, I have little faith.

i hope this aircraft doesn’t end up like the early 737MAXs

I hope boeing does well with this plane. Boeing hasn't been doing to well recently. It looks like a cool plane.
