The English waged a civil war to free private interests (represented by Parliament) from the authoritarian chains of public power (the King). But today all Britons are governed by the market: those who are not unemployed are paid ridiculously low wages, many are in debt, some have to choose between eating and paying the rent or paying the gas bill. The king doesn't rule, but he's a billionaire and doesn't have to worry about his subjects' problems. Parliament is the home of bankers, aristocrats, landowners, businessmen and wealthy investors. Not even the Labor Party represents the private interests of British workers. A new dirty civil war broke out without gunfire on either side in the 1970s and the British workers were defeated and crushed.

My son wrote his History dissertation on the question "Why did Charles the First lose the Civil War?" We spent a very interesting and funny evening, with a bottle of whisky, trying to work out how to turn the answer "because he was a bloody idiot", into 15 thousand words.

Parliament was great, George Clinton was a genius. But why compare them to Elvis Presley?

How are your parents? shouted Cromwell across the battlefield. And the king replied: They're very well, thank you. Isn't the weather nice for this time of year?

Feels like an introduction is missing. Maybe this is part 2. Where is part 1?

You could make your editing easier to follow, it jumps from event to event with very little ceremony, or cohesion of progression. And the ending cliffhanger could give one whiplash. There should at least be directions, as to where to find the continuation.

Cromwell was also an inventor, not just a regicide. He fashioned a device which was placed over the head of the soldiers, making them completely round, so they could be used as cannonballs. They were used as such at the Battle of Naseby, 1645.

If it weren't for this war, I wouldn't be an American. One of my GGF (A Scot) was sold as an indentured servant to an Englishman, in America. He ended up making quite a life here. And thank God for it.

if your going to tell a story then tell the WHOLE story! Your title for this video was quite misleading as it gave individuals the impression that one would hear/learn about the English civil war from start to finish but rather you only give the middle history. excellent information but again very disappointing that your title was either miss titled or woefully done so.

So you saying the poor people supported the king the Common People supported the king Randy Rich Lords in Parliament Rich businessman in London supported the parliament against the king so it sounds like the king with the People's Choice
