Hikaru said in his stream, when Magnus beat Hikaru and surpassed the highest rating of Kasparov, He texted garry apologizing for not being able to stop Magnus from breaking his record of Highest Rating Ever

Hikaru can say "I SET 3 OF THE HIGHEST CHESS RATINGS EVER". Thats our streamer right there.

For me, Magnus Carlsen is the best chess player of all time. I say this not only because of his rating, but also because of the dominance he has over his contemporaries. His understanding of the game is amazing, and he dominates all game rhythms very easily (bullet, blitz, rapid and classic).

Finegold: Always retreat
Kasparov: Always attack

I think i have a good idea for a series. You find an obscure position from two grandmasters that is completely winning/losing for one side, give it to two random subscribers at any rating, and have them play from that position. I think it’d be kinda fun to watch that.

I also got to my highest rating ever today, though it's just 1400 (and a bit). Thank you Vienna Gambit :)

A chess history video I'd really like to see if you want to go back to older games again: a video on the 1924 New York chess tournament, and specifically Richard Reti's wins against Alekhine and Capablanca. It would be a good video to explain how "hypermodern" ideas (and by extension, today's chess) began, and what pre-WWII chess was usually like compared to today.

I'd also love to see you cover Tony Miles' win over Karpov with the ridiculous-looking St. George defense, which as a bonus would also make for a great thumbnail.

Kasparov losing the world championship but getting the highest rating ever is like how the Golden State Warriors lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers but went 73-9
Shoutout to Kevin Durant

I finally understand IM Levy Rozman. He has a character for everyone. Depending on the topic, he chooses a presentation style depending on the target audience. Whether it be first time players, chess meme aficionados, or high level experts.

Truly one of the best chess communicators of our time reaching a large audience. So hard working.

"If I have achieved greatness, it is by standing on the shoulders of Hikaru." ~Every GM in this video.

Alternate title: Hikaru gets bullied for 31 minutes and 4 seconds

"that's normally what happens, they get their highest rating ever and then they draw and lose"
I mean yeah, otherwise it would hardly be their highest rating ever

Had a new guy walk into my club today. He ran through me like I was a nobody.

He was 2400.

Hikaru in 2014 like the guy in the trenchcoat saying "Come here, wanna buy some rating?"

So close to 2900! It would be amazing to see him hit his goal!
