For people saying they don't see transitions, go to the VFX tab and hover over the start/end of your clip again, but move your cursor right to the end till you see a white 'H' looking thing. Right click then and you should see it.

fading out gives the insufficient media error for some reason.

I only have segment commands, sequence commands, and trimming commands. no cut commands

Super newbie: hovering my cursor doesn't seem to do anything about making a white bracket appear. Have I gotten into a strange state where this doesn't work? I've seen it work a few times (when I didn't want it), but when I want that white bracket to appear, it just doesn't appear. What conditions are necessary for the hover to work?

Why does the final transition end up half the length of what you set ? I wanted 2 secs and only got one sec. undid and redid setting for 4 secs - and got the 2 sec transition I wanted ! Why can I not just drag the transition longer - it appears to only adjust shorter :(

Hi, thank you very much for this tutorial. However the transition between both segments is not really a fade in/fade out transition. How can we add a fade in (to black) to the first segment, which transitions to a fade out on the second segment?
