The detail that all the shareholders look the same is so fucking funny and unsettling at the same time. Major American Psycho vibes

This movie not getting a best sound nomination is a crime

I didn't know that Ray Liotta was originally cast before his passing. Dennis Quaid did an unbelievably great job though.

You can see on Sue's eyes, she wants to cry behind that smile

The best performance, from Dennis Quaid, at least out of the films I’ve seen him in, and he’s barely in it for ten minutes. He NAILS every disgustingly misogynistic line with such gusto and timing. Not to mention Margaret’s acting here, looking so genuinely uncomfortable while smiling as convincingly as she can without a word of dialogue. This film is a masterpiece.

Geez, even without context, this scene is uncomfortable as hell.

I love the complete lack of sincerity when he asks if she’s okay.

This movie is basically requiem for a dream meets the fly

Even as a 26 year old man, i know women who hate being told exaclty what Dennis Quaid says and how uncomfortable he'll make women feel in this masterpiece 😮

I absolutely loved this movie

It's like the dreams I have where my tooth falls out of nowhere and everyone is waiting for me to smile and be safe

Margaret Qually deserves to win an Oscar for this scene alone.

I get that this genre is notorious for not winning academy awards but mayn, if this film doesn't get the oscar for best sound design, my faith in the film industry will literally be shattered. I mean the sound design is FREAKING INSANEEE in this movie. That bass when Quaid's character says "so smile!" adds so much to the shakiness that this scene potrays 🔥

Just watched the movie. Have to say, it's rare witnessing such a kafkaesque blend of grosteque & horror combined with philosophical depth. This ain't for the faint-hearted unequivocally. Exceptional performances by Demi Moore & Margaret Qualley. Hats off to Coralie Fargeat & the rest of the crew for pulling off such a cinematic masterpiece. ❤️👏

As a huge fan of Stanley Kubrick, this film feels like a love letter to his work!

Its themes of isolation, obsession, dehumanization, and descent into madness evoke 2001: A Space Odyssey and A Clockwork Orange.

The bold visuals, particularly the striking use of red, are reminiscent of The Shining, while its surreal, voyeuristic exploration of desire channels the vibe of Eyes Wide Shut.

With standout performances from Demi Moore and Margaret Qualley, this film is truly a masterpiece!

It’s the little curl bobbing up during the smile that gets me
