First Burn - Hazbin Hotel Animatic - (Adam & Eve)

Heyo, heyo. Been a bit since I made a proper animatic, and I got the sudden urge to finally created this one I have had in the works for a while! Which is my take on Eve and Adam's relationship for Hazbin Hotel. I've seen quite a few takes with her in the fandom, all of which are great! I've seen ones where they are power couples, and others where it's just an abusive relationship, so I wanted to go for a more heart breaking complicated dynamic where they are two people who love each other, but so much is against them, especially with Adam's personality.

Down below I will give my write up on my take on Adam and Eve, so please keep in mind this is all just a piece of fan work, and I 100% know this is not how canon is gonna take it lmao.

Story:

Given the situation that was Lilith, Adam got a stern talking to about treating his next wife with more care by the angels. He agreed, but still didn't fully understand what love and being a couple actually meant, having no reference to turn to. But he was nice to Eve, who was immediately smitten by the man said to be her soul mate. He was hers, and she was his. Adam thought she was cute, but didn't feel the strong love like her at that point.

They lived their lives in the garden of eden, bonding with each other, and each day Adam grew closer and closer with Eve. He adored her love for the world, and gentle kindness she had towards everything around her. It wasn't until Lucifer and Lilith got involved that things changed drastically.

Being naive and trusting any angel that spoke to her, Eve bit into the apple as Lucifer told her it would grant her the powers to fulfill all her dreams. By the time Adam found them, it was too late, and the effects of the apple hit Eve and the world itself. There was a shift in reality, and everyone felt it. Adam came to his wife's defense while the other angels appeared to see what had happened, catching Lucifer and Lilith for their crimes of allowing evil into the world.

Amongst the chaos, Adam caught wind that the angels might need to replace Eve, and it was then that he realized he loved her. To everyone's surprise, Adam also took a bite of the apple, and it made the angels realize there was no going back, the root of evil had planted itself. So they turned to managing what they could, casting Lucifer and Lilith to hell.

Despite the angels freaking out, Eve felt closer to Adam when seeing him eat the apple too, and the pair stuck close together even as the world changed. More humans were introduced, Adam and Eve had kids, lost Abel to Cain, and evolved with the knowledge they received.

However, ever since that day, Eve had built up anxieties over the way the angels look at her, whispers among them about what she did, and if her soul would get to cross over into the heavens. Adam had faith they would both be fine, and when he passed away he was reborn into an angel, despite also eating the apple. Though he still visited his wife on earth many times.

Even with her husband's confidence, Eve still worried, and was rightfully so. When her untimely death happened, she found herself not in heaven, but in hell. A burning shadow growing inside her. She was found by Lilith, Lucifer and Cain, while Adam fought with heaven to get his wife back to him. Only to learn that they don't even know why Eve went to hell, Sera merely pointing to the apple.

Eve awaited for her husband, knowing he would come searching for her. And Adam looked for ways to bring Eve back to him, though without her by his side he began delving back into his worse habits, the angels letting him do whatever. When he heard about the extermination plans, Adam jumped in to lead the cause, hoping to find Eve, but also get back at Lucifer and hell for everything it took from him.

Upon seeing the first extermination on TV, it was then that Eve had to accept the fact her husband wasn't a great person.

It took him a few years to find Eve, and when he did he did not get the open arms he expected. Instead, Eve told him to piss off, letting out all her emotions of how Adam and the Angels treated her. Adam saw a glimpse of what lived within his wife's soul, and fled back home with a pained heart.

After that, Eve become much more isolated in her life, and Adam locked into his negative habits as a means to cope...

I wanna thank you all for watching this animatic! It was quite surprising to see it get so much attention, and hopefully I can do more of these in the future ❤

I’ve seen a couple of common questions pop up down bellow so I figured I’d clarify things here so I don’t need to keep saying the same answer.

1.This video is suppose to be when the two officially break up, and it’s after this that Eve slept with Lucifer. Adam did his stuff before this.

2. Eve isn’t ruling hell alongside Lucifer and Lilith, in fact it took her a long while to warm up to them. Eve accepted their help in the end because she had very little at that point, and because unlike heaven, the royal couple were at least making up for their mistakes against her. They have bonded over the years, but Eve will never forgive them for the apple, and they’ve accepted that.

3. I do want to explore more with Adam and Eve, and their kids, in future stuff. Mostly through art and other animatics. I posted Eve’s full render with extra notes on my pages if you want to see more.

4. I know there are some who feel bad for Adam or don’t care for a victim Eve, which is totally fair! I agree that Helluva Hazbin has a cluster of bad husband/bad father stuff that even I find tiring. If I were making my own story that had Adam and Eve it would be different. But at the end of the day I am basing this off of Hazbin lore, and Adam is just an asshat there lol. Though I still want to explore his character.

5. This is just a fan art project. Nothing here will affect the show itself, and I know this AU will be completely wrong/different to whatever the next seasons have in stores for us lol.

Okay i kinda love the idea of Adam going to heaven yet Eve arbitrarily going to hell and basically teaming up with Lucifer and Lilith.

This video shows exactly one of the many reasons why Adam never had to die so soon or why he has to come back in the future, there is still a lot of his story to tell as well as his relationships.

I'm not really a fan of Eva always being seen as the victim, it's still too early to interpret exactly what happened but if we take what Charlie's book says literally we get an idea of ​​what it was like.

I like your Eva, it makes a lot of sense that she gets angry with Adam for the exterminations but at the same time ignores the scum of the world. I would like them to have a normal conversation and as adults disturbed by the time that they are, debate points of view and hopefully understand each other's point even if they don't completely agree.

I think, in addition with the backstory given, Eve’s demon form design is fucking brilliant. She’s all the eyes and dark gazes she’s ever been anxious about being on/directed at her. And in the demonic manifestation of a feature she would hate about herself the most, she becomes a dark mirror and parallel of seraphim angels’ true forms with their own plethora eyes everywhere and wings. Not to mention her true form’s lack of mouth, the erasure of Eve’s own voice and choices in the whole damn story of things.

One thing that would be very interesting if they had added it is that, unlike Eve, Adam could have witnessed all the generations of humanity, observing the good and the very, very bad. What would happen if he got tired of always seeing the same thing or became disillusioned by seeing how humans used free will to do bad things? Eve being a mother would obviously love all her children equally and although it is something admirable, she forgets several things they did. Imagine if a guy with a mustache came and he wasn't even punished for what he did because he is his descendant xd

That could have also changed his perspective, added to facts like the lack of Eve and her children, an incompetent heaven with various things as seen in the series and a self-destructive circle from which he seemed unable to escape.
Adam is an interesting character and although it may not seem so, he may have several layers, he is the first man and consequently the first to make many mistakes but also the first to not give up and move forward despite adversity.

Do the children hate him? It depends on whether it was due to bad parenting or extermination, but I hope they are smart and see the bigger picture. I can only congratulate you for such wonderful work, you are an idol.

Oh my gosh!!! Eve’s design is just so beautiful especially when her demonic wings appeared! Lilith being referred to Eve as her sister! Adam and Eve’s children being there in a fire-y form at the end! Adam trying to find ways to bring her to heaven but to no avail and Eve’s heartbroken gaze when she saw Adam on the tv with Lute!! Just everything about this is just amazing and my replay button is gonna get broken by the time morning comes 😂

I really like this story, I like how despite what they caused, Eve, Lilith and Lucifer were on good terms with each other in hell.
I especially love how angry Lilith looks at that shot of them seeing the first extermination and Adam, like she looks more angry than Lucifer.

I also just like the idea of Lilith and Eve getting along in general, complaining about their crappy husband and being friends.

And the animatic work is just top notch, I love Eve's design so much!
