Loving the build you have (Build being you're particular rom set built and theme). I think the brilliance is with batocera is the freedom of customisation according to preference. I've just ordered a mini pc for a 720p monitor for a minimum space build to play on an actual screen rather than say a mobile device.

The theme is great here in the vid as its very complete but my pref stock theme (shows description in correct caps and minimal fuss with console pic for selection) with box art and description only but only full officially released set complete nes snes psx megadrive master system and n64. I plan on adding psp to my library for psp is great and psp emulator is fine to run on low ends.

Planning on using nes and Snes mini Controllers too for authenticity.

I've worked out a way to finally save Retroarch settings in Batocera 😃

1. In batocera settings and per system advanced configuration :
Set decoration set to "none"
In game rendering -
Set shader set to "none"
and smooth games to "off"
2. Start a game on the core you want to change settings.
3. Bring up retroarch (select and x) while game is running.
4. Change settings you want.
For example to set shader -
Shaders in quick menu
Zfast_crt. glsi (filter nearest/default)
5. Apply changes
Go to save in shaders
Save core preset
Go to Overides
Save core overides

Amazing, it is time consuming working on my own image for Retropie, just discovered Batocera which seems easier, might do that when i finish this 1, so far got 36 systems on pi 4 around 20, 000 games but its more girly than most images ive found on arcade punks, anyway thats the fun making it yourself!👌👌❤

I must confess I'm a bit shit when it comes to setting this stuff up...Ive downloaded a load of different images that are "ready to go" and more than 80% of them just don't work straight from boot...

Nice! I never heard of Batocera before... I have Hyperspin on my Vewlix cabinet, but I am looking to upgrade my pc and maybe try a different program for better emulation. Do you think Batocera is better than Hyperspin? Hyperspin is pretty intense to get all the settings right - is that also the case with Batocera?
