The Asus TUF boards are awesome! I have a Z87 and it's still running strong after many upgrades 13 years later.

It's way easier to remember asus motherboard series than remembering certain naming of monitor

I’ve got myself a prime board in my build, and I have no complaints. Granted I have nothing to compare it to, but I don’t want to upgrade it, so I’d say they’re pretty cool

A-sus sounds professional, Asoos sounds like the guy from gravity falls

By the way this list is not really complete. Prime boards used to be the general desktop and productivity boards for Asus until they seperated the productivity side to create the ProArt lineup. However the issue here is that the ROG boards have an entirely own microcosm of naming schemes. At the bottom you have the ROG Strix boards. Those usually end with an -F which is the lowest tier, -E which is the one above, -A which is usually for white boards and -I for mini ITX.

then there come the actual ROG boards. Depending on the platform those have a different prefix:
Maximus - Intel Desktop
Crosshair - AMD Desktop (Ryzen)
Rampage - Intel HEDT
Zenith - AMD Threadripper
You then usually have a roman numeral of the boards generation and then a name for all tiers:

Hero - Usually the base ROG board but still above all other ASUS TUF, Prime and ROG STRIX boards
Ranger - I don't think they exist anymore but they used to be either a tier above or below Hero
Impact - mini ITX
Gene - micro ATX
Formula - this one stood for different things but in later renditions it usually meant watercooled VRM heatsinks. Intended for use wirh custom loops.
Code - also not a thing anymore, used to be entry level.
Extreme - usually the absolute highest tier, mostly E-ATX nowadays
Apex - boards that focus entirely on overclocking. They usually only have 2 RAM slots too and are intended for breaking overclocking world records, not General use

Lol, thank you sweetie for the explanation as the naming trend doesn't follow the trend of other things people buy. So do reach before you bought something that just sounds good.❤

Remember when they screwed their customers warranties and refused to do anything until they got caught and went viral. Be careful who you buy from.

ROG boards are beasts! I've had one for over 15 years and it still runs strong. It's a bit dated but it's never let me down. I'm currently running an MSI board, great product but i'm still an ASUS fan.

The company used to be called Pegasus... they took "peg" off it so their brand would show up just under many of the Taiwanese OG devs old company Acer back when companies had brands listed alphabetically.

Asus comes from Pegasus, that’s how you pronounce it. Also no one ive ever watched has called it “rawg” it’s always R O G, as in each letter individually

ASUS actually comes from the Mythical creature PegASUS (Flying Horse with Wings).
I personally switch between A-sus and ASOOOS to confuse people in the best possible way (😬)
(Okay that's actually not true, I just mix up the spelling all the time because I forget about it, haha)

It’s actually really easy:
Prime = I don’t care how my PC looks / I use a closed case
TUF = My PC should look like it’s Bulletproof, not too much LED please
ROG = VOMIT THAT LED COLOR IN ALL ITS GLORY! MORE RGB EQUALS MORE FPS!!!

Asus is derived from the word "Pegasus" so the pronunciation similar to that in pegasus

The company used to be named Pegasus, but to put them at the beginning of listings they dropped the Peg.
