Jamey Johnson - Sober (Lyric Video)

Jamey Johnson, who has received 10 Grammy nominations, is “one of the greatest country singers of our time,” according to The Washington Post. He has received tremendous praise from The New York Times, Rolling Stone, The Wall Street Journal and other publications, many of which have hailed his albums as masterpieces. He is a proud member of the Grand Ole Opry.

His album That Lonesome Song was certified platinum for more than 1 million in sales, and his double album, The Guitar Song, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard country album charts and was certified gold. He also released the Grammy-nominated Living for a Song: A Tribute to Hank Cochran, which featured performances with Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Alison Krauss, Emmylou Harris, Ray Price, Elvis Costello, George Strait and Vince Gill.

He is also widely regarded as one of the greatest country songwriters of his generation. He is one of only a few people in the history of country music to win two Song of the Year awards--for “Give It Away” and “In Color”--from the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association. His songs have been recorded by George Strait, Trace Adkins, Willie Nelson, James Otto, Joe Nichols and others.
He is also an in-demand musical collaborator. He recorded “I Forgive It All” for the Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers tribute album, Petty Country: A Country Music Celebration of Tom Petty, which was released in June. He and Elle Langley recorded “Young Love (Strong Love)” for A Tribute to the Judds that was released in 2023.
He was honored to be invited to turn two of Johnny Cash’s unfinished poems into songs. He completed “Spirit Rider” for the album called Forever Words, and he and Cash’s son, John Carter Cash, turned the late icon’s words into a song called “California Poem.”

Proud to say that I'm going on over 2 years sobriety..
Had to due to a medical diagnosis.
And thanking Jesus for keeping me on the path of sobriety.

33 years ago, I woke up with one of the worst hangovers I have ever had. As I was saying to myself I'll never do this again... again...it was like the Good Lord replied back and said you say that all the time. I realized at the time GOD was right and I've been sober ever since. When scripture talks about freedom ... this is what it's been. For me Zero was an easy number to manage and days went by then weeks then years. Praise GOD for helping me save myself from myself. Thank you Jamey for making a song about the journey. Life is good clear minded and sober.

One day at a time sweet Jesus. I Surround myself with folks who don't use and I avoid my addictions because I can't be around it and I find that every day I'm a little stronger

"All these drinking songs we are playing make it hard staying sober in this town 1:14 " made me chill to my bones. Been in a similar mindset these past few years. Great song. Incredible writing Mr Jamey

I moved away 3 years ago from arkansas to Colorado i run from my addiction doing half oz of meth every day to 2 days alone. 2 weeks ago i moved back to arkansas and im facing everyone and everything i ran from. Everwhere i go i bump in to people i used with or once knew from the drugs and drug dealing. It is hard to drop the people you once knew 😢 but they was only my friends for the drugs. Being 3 years sober i realized life is much more beautiful on this side of the road 😊 keep putting on everyone
