Have you ever considered moving to a small town for retirement?

I think we got the best deal. We moved from NYC to the west side of Youngstown, Ohio, 5 years ago. We’re retired and make just under $5K a month from Social Security. Our landlord charges us $450 a month and promised that as long as we pay on time, he’d never raise the rent. So far, so good. We’re renting a 2-bedroom, 1 1/2 bath house with a nice yard. We’ve saved a small fortune.

I live in Apache Junction, and I can’t find a one-bedroom apartment for less than $1, 200 a month. Since COVID, everything’s gotten expensive because people have become greedy.

None of the places mentioned in this video have the rental prices you talked about. Rent has doubled, if not tripled, while Social Security checks haven’t kept up. I believe you need at least $3, 000 a month to live anywhere in the U.S. now. Let me know if you disagree.

Back to Englewood, you would be lucky to rent anything for under $1, 500 a month and that would be a run down studio apartment. It’s a great town but bring lots and lots of money and lots of tolerance. It’s extremely hot and humid in the summer and grossly overcrowded in the winter because of snowbirds which drive up the prices especially at golf courses and restaurants.

You should mention if the state taxes Social Security or pensions. That can make a big difference for retirees.

I found your channel through this video—case studies like these are incredibly valuable, and I’m eager to see more in the future! Building wealth involves setting up routines, like consistently putting aside money for smart investments.

I’ve been through many of these towns as a trucker. Spur, Texas, has a new thing: Tiny Homes. They allow them in the city.

I would like to recommend Russellville, Arkansas.
Arkansas A&M is here. Decent manufacturing base. Taxes are decent. I can’t say I agree with the politics but people are friendly. I-40 runs the town. Life is good and winters won’t kill you.

A small to medium town with a lot of retirees could be a good place for a handyman. Something to consider.

your math for Logansport doesn't add up. $700 rent + $700 utilities +utilities and transportation far exceed your $1, 500 goal

You just invited thugs in this area saying no or low crime rates.

😂 I live in Englewood, Fla., and it’s extremely obvious you did not do your research. Your AI search with your AI generated voice over is a joke. You’ve really embarrassed yourself with this one. 😂
