I sort of feel bad that he gave away the fact that Gatsby was trying to win Daisy's heart right in the first chapter since that is such an exciting and important part of the book that gets the reader more attached to the story. At least for me.

Thank goodness for this channel, I love to read, but classics have so much meaning put to them, that it is hard to read casually, while still feeling an understanding to why it is a classic that is taught in schools, I love that it is so short, so I don't feel like I am at school, but I still feel better about understanding the book. I just came here to say that this series of the great gatsby analysis, are the best for the Last minute study of the novel, most of the events I were asked about on the final exam, I answered them from what I remembered here. Thx for your efforts 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

Our English teacher is actually telling us the opposite... According to her, Nick is actually an unreliable narrator, and it's visible right through chapter 1 (while he says he's non judgmental and honest, he's criticizing people from his school and surroundings in the same chapter). Also, he tries to give to the reader a good image of Gatsby, wanting us to see him as an heroe and as someone "great" while he's a bootlegger and a liar.
