Making A Product From Scratch - Silicone Mold, CNC Machining & Resin Casting

Watch as I show the process of cnc machining the ‘master’, taking a silicone mold of the master, then resin casting into the mold to reproduce the part.

The part is a new DIY kit for mounting an air suspension controller into a vehicle interior. This kit is for the Accuair Elevel Plus controller.

Curious why you didn't CNC machine the mold positives directly in the modeling board? It seems easier than maching the full item original and then building the mold enclosure by hand? It would also avoid issues with part flipping on the CNC, because you would machine the two halves of the mold next to each other.

Also, for us fellow resin casters, mentioning the chemicals you use would be greatly appreciated! I noticed a mold release agent, and I'm not sure what the black spray was.

i don't usually comment on videos but I have got to say this is one of the best videos i have watched for cinematic style shots and good content. Can i ask what camera setup you are using? I am in the process of upgrading my filming equipment in the near future and the clarity of the dark areas on this without going grainy is incredible!
