3 killed, 2 wounded in shooting at University of Virginia

Three people have been killed and two others were wounded in a shooting late Sunday at the University of Virginia, according to the school’s president. Police are searching for a suspect, who remains at large.

This is another heartbreaking story. As a mother who’s daughter is away from home to college, this is something you worry about everyday. 😢 my heart goes out to the families of the victims.

The university is a "safe zone" no weapons are permitted, so how is this possible.

I can't begin to fathom the pain, hurt, rage, and grief those who lost their loved one in such an excruciating violence that tears through their entire world.

As a college student, I feel pain knowing I have to fear what I've feared all through childhood. I don't feel safe anywhere anymore, and that's not anything I would wish on anyone, I can't say I completely understand the way that the students of these two universities feel. Still I empathize with them. Their pain is much more than mine. Their sense of safety is much less than mine. Their grief is far greater. The families, friends, and the students of both colleges should not be forgotten. The people who are injured and the people who have died are not forgotten.

Meanwhile in the gun free zone of Chicago, 27 shot and 6 killed this weekend. Pretty low numbers for Chicago.
