HP ProLiant DL580 Gen9 Server Remove Replace Memory cartridge

Memory cartridge removal
Note: The chassis and internal components of the HP Proliant DL580 Gen 9 Server are similar to the HP Proliant DL580 Gen 8 Server and the removal and replacement procedures are the same. The HP Proliant DL580 Gen 8 Server is shown here.

Before you begin:

Power down the server.
Disconnect the power cords.
Extend the processor memory drawer.
Remove memory drawer cover.
Steps
Press the release button and the memory cartridge doors pop up.
Lift the memory cartridge from server.
Lift the latch and open the cover
DIMM removal

Steps
Release the DIMM by pressing the release levers down.
Lift the DIMM up and out of cartridge.
DIMM replacement

Steps
DIMMs are keyed as shown here.
Set the DIMM in the slot.
Press firmly so that latches lock DIMMs in place.
Align pins on one side of the cover to corresponding holes on the other side.
Press firmly to close.
The latch will click.
Memory cartridge replacement

Steps
The memory cartridge is keyed as shown here.
Holding the memory cartridge in the center, align with the connector and channels on either side while pressing the fan baffle back.
Slide the memory cartridge in the slot.
Press firmly to engage.

Hello! Why would one want to have RAM modules attached via RAM? Any idea?
