Man, I’m going to actually feel bad for Roman when he has to give this G wagon back. But I guess as the saying goes, it’s better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all. Hopefully your channels keep growing enough that you can buy your own in the near future.

Mr. WhistlinDiesel can show you just how much it can Offroad without worrying about damaging it!

Unfortunately, this will probably the hardest test any auto journalist puts this vehicle through. It would be nice if Mercedes allowed this thing to be really pushed. Regardless, awesome job and thanks for doing this!

Very cool video and a truly amazing vehicle! I’m guessing there are people in Jackson or Aspen (or someplace similar) who would own one and actually use it to its full capabilities. Honestly, even if you have a budget of $350K for vehicles, you’re much more likely to own a few and your off-roader would be just a slice of that budget. The person who buys one and actually uses it off-road probably has a vehicle budget in the millions. That’s a remarkably small slice of the world. Very cool to get the opportunity to see this thing in the wild, knowing I will never, ever, get to own one. I suspect MB would only trust a very few journalists as they have you, Roman. Well-deserved and I’m glad you so obviously enjoyed this chance and let us all join in vicariously.

This has the be one of the best off road videos I’ve seen. I love the raw uncut video. Really gives the impression of what’s actually going on. Great job!

Amazing vehicle! Thanks Roman for showing us a little of what it can do. Having one of these might actually pay for itself with the amount interest and video content possible to create.

If you use the full bag of tricks (lockers, etc) and then get stuck, you don’t have any tricks left to get unstuck. Not to mention using lockers around turns is a good way to break things if you have a lot of grip. I’ll use low range all the time off-road, but save the traction aids for when they’re needed. Anyway, very cool to see the mighty G actually used off-road and not being challenged at all!

Got your workout going back and forth with the camera and climbing into that beast. Many only dream about that truck and we get to live vicariously through your videos.

In-hub gear reduction axles is what the original (split window) VW bus used to increase ground clearance and gain a torque advantage to keep the 36 HP motor usable as the rated weight capacity of those early vans was over 1500 lbs. Granted those original designs were Swing Axles rather than true independent suspension like on the Mercedes.

Awesome video - well done Roman. Kudos to you and MB for taking such a crazy expensive rig off road! Impressive capabilities on the G Wagon. We see a lot of G Wagons around Aspen and I would say that none of them ever leave the pavement!

The best off-roader that will never be used off-road by anyone. Such a shame that all of that technical ability will be absolutely wasted. I'd be much more impressed if someone bought this with 18" wheels and a diesel engine.

Appreciate you actually using the G Wagon as intended. 90% of the owners would never take em off-road

I really wanted the TFL videography crew to film this thing testing off-road. I’m beyond disappointed. If it didn’t get filmed this time it’ll never get filmed on this channel. Most of the video is of Roman or looking through the windshield.

Love seeing how the G-Wagon is making all the normally difficult tasks look so easy, thank you for taking it over the same obstacles, that makes it easy to compare the G, to all the other vehicles you have tested.
Great video 👍🤗

I got a humvee (hmmwv) with portal axles. 16” I think ground clearance. Cost $7500. No ac. Doors come off. Loud af. But I love it

In what certainly *feels* like a decade of watching TFL videos, I dont think I've seen you this excited. Sell some stuff, move some money around, buy one of these and go love life.

oh my god, I love this video. both the car and the host were amazing! so entertaining, the host of the show was so charismatic I couldn't stop laughing at points! I just wanted to show my friend the superiority of the German engineering and left with one of the most entertaining times of my life! thanks for creating content like this and for being so entertaining and charismatic!

AWESOME vid!!! Gonna say it's my favorite TFL vid this year. And Roman you got some stones to take on Moab without a spotter. Can't wait to see the rest of this series. THANKS!

Here I was thinking the squared was solid front axle version of the new G wagon based on the 463A platform, then Roman shows us under the front. The IFS system on the front renders any advantage of the portal axle useless for the front at least, even Merc knows this thing isn't going off road much.

WhistlinDiesel has proven how tough the regular AMG 63 is, crazy how much they can take
