Review: 2024 Mercedes-AMG G63 4x4 Squared | IT'S HUGE!

This is the most ridiculous car on the market and I’m testing it in one of the most beautiful places in Lebanon in the Cedars of God. I’ve also got myself some great company! Meet the AMG G 63 4x4 Squared.

This is the G-Class Exponent 2 - a bigger, wider, and more capable version of the very popular AMG G 63. Previously called the G 500 (G550 in North America), the new 4x4 Squared becomes a proper AMG and receives a lot of improvements to the suspension setup and portal axles, but it sits lower than its predecessor making it more daily drivable (438 mm vs 350 mm).

Key ingredient: Portal axles. It uses gears to raise the wheel hubs above the center of the wheel - the drive axle is offset in this case - increasing ground clearance.
