I've gotten weird reactions when I tell people that getting a ripped physique was a choice. Like, this shit didn't happen by accident. It's always a choice.

One thing I give Coach Greg huge credit for... he never criticizes or ridicules anyone for WHO THEY ARE, he only criticizes WHAT BAD CHOICES THEY MAKE or BAD INFORMATION THEY PUT OUT. I admire that.

I needed to hear this today. I have another 45 lbs to go to no longer be obese. 100 lbs down from my heaviest today. I’m doing it! 💜

From a former obese, being a obese is definitely a choice. I listen to Coach Greg yelling at me everyday to lose the weight and it worked.

I used to be anorexic. One day, i just chose to eat as much as i can. it is always a choice. could i eat 4k calories? no. could i eat 200 more than i did yesterday? yes. Now training to get into my 1st fitness competition. gained 30kg ^^ Greg is right, ppl just dont want to admit. There is always an excuse, always. Took me 22 years to forget my excuses.

Its absolutely a choice. I was obese my whole life from an early age then late 2020 I woke up one day and decided that I was done being obese. Started at 300 now I'm at 235 and my goal is 180. 5'10, 23 years old

It's sad that a lot of these people strip themselves of their own agency and independence when they proclaim 'it wasn't a choice'.

To choose weakness over strength is one of humanity’s greatest tragedies.

As a child, it's your parents' choice, as an adult it's your own. In today's society we have the knowledge and tools to choose to not be obese!

My dad died aged 43 after complications following a heart attack and cardiovascular disease. He was obese. Instead of making changes he wanted to make, he surrounded himself with toxic positivity that would tell him he was perfectly fine the way he was. No need to change just enjoy life. He didn't get to see his grandkids or even get to see any of his children grow up and get married and start their own families.

I'm training to become a coach myself because my goal in life now is to encourage others to change so they can have more time with their family.
So no, do NOT celebrate obesity, encourage unhealthy people to make changes if they want to! Don't tell them its fine. You can seriously help extend their lives. That's almost like having super powers! No matter what your goals are, keep working at them, we can all make it happen!

As someone who was once obese, it really is hard. I was pretty much addicted to eating fast food and junk as it made me feel good (my dad had passed away and we used to eat out all the time so it made me feel better when I ate) but eventually I had enough. I wanted to go to the beach and feel like people aren’t looking at me because I was fat. I CHOSE to eat less and healthier. My main strategy was high volume, low calorie. Also I made sure to make it still taste good, I simply couldn’t just eat kale. I now have a 10% body fat which is much better than the 26% I was at. What I’m saying is while it is addictive, I made a CHOICE to step out of my comfort zone and do something with my life, I’m now addicted to health and watch everything I do everyday, it’s really made a change on my life.

As other type of addictions, these people have hard time admitting they are the responsible ones for their issues.

I’ve been morbidly obese…it’s absolutely a choice, no question, no doubt.

I’m by no means obese today, but after ten years of living a cleaner life, I’m still a work in progress…and I think that’s what I should expect the rest of my life…

There's always a choice as an adult when you're living on your own. You have the power to change your own body, only if you wish to do so by hard work.

I love Coach Greg’s approach to this.. when I was at my heaviest, I 100% believed I had no power over my weight of BF%. The moment I started to see changes from the gym when I was with a PT turned everything around for me. I started to think, “hey maybe I have more power over this than I thought” and now I’m 15kg/ almost 30lbs down and still going strong. We *have* choices, no matter how powerless and stuck we feel.

I believe that we may be born with a genetic marker for obesity but we absolutely have a choice. I was obese my entire adult life and two years ago I had had enough of my own shit and decided to make a change. I have never felt better in my life! I’m so excited every day I work out! I wish others would be more conscious of the impact their poor choices make.

You missed a point with the lady who thought it might be a choice: she chose not to workout 8hrs a day or to eat just a cup of rice. That’s the mentality. It’s exaggerated, but that’s what they tell themselves every day... it’s too hard, it’s too much work and suffering.

Thanks to Coach Greg I finally decided to get off my ass and loss the weight. I started at 120 kg at the age 16 and now I'm at 93 kg at the age of 17. Thank you for all the advice and help. Edit Thanks for the support.😁 Remember it's all about consistency.
