The NASA space agency has found a near-Earth-sized planed in a habitable zone similar to our sun. Scientists say Kepler 452B is the closest match to Earth yet. It's about 1400 light years away.

This is really awesome. Wish we could see the terrains and clouds of this majestic world.

One important thing, that's incorrect in this video is, that James Webb's space telescope, nor any other planned future generation telescope won't be able to give us any more data about this new planet. James Webb's is designed to do this kind of observation only for much shorter operational distance (only about few light years away). It's not likely composition of atmosphere of this newly discovered exoplanet will be examined in the upcoming years and it's very questionable, whether it could ever happen.

We don't know the planet's rotation rate, spin axis, whether there is a large moon to stabilize that spin axis, whether it has a magnetic field which would prevent solar wind from stripping the atmosphere away (which is probably what happened to Mars for lack of such a field), the frequency with which it's received meteorite bombardment (what Robert Heinlein called "cosmic love-pats"), or so many other variables which would spell the difference between an Earth-like planet, or a Mars- or Venus-like planet incapable of supporting life, a planet which would be stable enough long enough for humanoid or other intelligent life to evolve, or no further up the ladder than cephalpod-equivalents, or perhaps even just bacterial life.

BUT we still can't SEE what it really LOOKS like!

It is older than us so maybe they are way more advanced in technology than us. I wonder what different stories they have. We have to have super hi tech telescope to see every detail of that planet. Especially the alien life forms there

To all those that are "surprised" at Kepler discovery i pity your evolution.. So here is how it is (at least to me).... every star you see in the night sky is or at least was or will inhabit life, that is their job, that is the intention.. yet your wasting billions just to reassure your selves when its obvious they are powerhouses for life, why waste all that energy if your not going to make something of it - hence the habitable the intention is clear and that is LIFE - depending on the size will govern its rotation like ours - it will have seasons, animals, insects, types of humans (depending on the stage of evolution the cosmic giggle gives it) also the size difference to all things there will be huge if the star is bigger let us all remember its all emanating from the same source - the centre of our galaxy, if that isn't natural gnosis i dont know what is, best off all that was priceless it didn't cost me a penny to work that out.. have fun wasting more money on more space scopes! - ironic thing is we are tearing down trees to print the cash out on to fuel your search for life whilst fucking up ours on this planet rotating around our sun/star - infinite = infinite life forms and possibilities but they all follow the same rules of nature depending on the habitat... nice wake up people and stop acting so dam surprised.. also lay of the sci fi movies if your going to compare it to what is really happening... we are the alien, the advancing evolved, not some diamond shape face called a grey that the 1940s, 50's, 60's, 70's made up! doctor who days are over... to me an insect is more alien and a sweet reminder that we apart of something much more unexplained than we or are led to believe

Throughtout this entire week I was wondering if there was another planet.
1. Is life different on there planet?
2. Is there water on that planet?
3. Will N.A.S.A find a way through travel lightyears to go there?
4. Do the life on kelpler believe in a different god/Ruler
5. Are there other planets farther then 2 or 3 lightyears?
6. Are they creatures?
7. Are they ahead of time?
If you wondering the same please comment and like this post.
Since they are probably ahead of time they prob give us a visit by pretending their a star.
8. will N.A.S.A finally understand the speed of light and get us through lightspeed??
9. How will us living their affect us?

The fact is that why aliens are gray and skinny?
It’s because of the distance of their planet to us that causes some serious changes to their body (malnutrition). lol

They give planets really lame names! Really! I say the next planets should be given names like these... Bond, Asimov, Skywalker, Stormwind, Middle Earth, Gandalf, and so on. Seriously! Thousands of years from now people would die just to know what those names actually represented!

Good news. But watch every ignoramus come out of the wood work saying that we should travel there.  At 1, 400 light years; with our technology, the travel time would be 280 million years.

I would expect this type of knowledge in N.A.S.A this is actually exciting besides the fact the I am a christian. First N.A.S.A saw a bigger glimpse for pluto  go u.s.a I suppose? Hmm.. What else could be next? First a bigger glimpse of pluto, then this? The Human knowledge is rapidly getting higher.. Lord help them..
