Batman 89 is one of my fav batman movie of all time. Michael keaton is a great Batman and his whole universe was just awesome. It is concerning that James Gunn doesn't like the Keaton verse and I wonder if we are really are

I didn’t really appreciate him saying that. I still highly believe that James Gunn can really turn the whole DC universe situation around, but Batman 89 is a classic. He’s talking about my all-time second favorite movie right there! Again still have confidence in him

The 89 Batman movie is one of the greatest comic book movies ever made . It showed you can make a dark comic movie and people will go see it . I still think Gunn is the wrong guy to reboot the DCU movies . Like Patty Jenkins he needs someone to tell him he's wrong and all they've done is let him loose to do whatever he wants . Let's remember they are paying him for guardians of the galaxy and we will probably get the suicide squad.

I know James Gunn's comments were made over a decade ago. But reading the overall comments left here I totally agree and understand the shock they have caused. I love Batman '89, sure it wasn't totally flawless (most films aren't) but now and again I will go back watch Batman '89 and Returns. The one comment I totally disagree though (if people want to have criticism of Batman '89) is criticising Danny Elfman's score. Anyone criticising Danny Elfman's score for Batman '89 can go to hell. That score is right here there with Robocop, Indiana Jones, Back to the Future and Jaws.

‘89 Batman was great! Game changing! Understand, the movie comes from an era where studios weren’t trying the be faithful to source material. E.G - The Shining, Jaws etc
The soundtrack was good - Elfman’s theme was iconic. They even reused it in Whedon’s JL. And Prince’s worst material is still better than the average stuff you get in the charts, in this decade or any.

I strongly disagree with Gunn because I truly believe without the 89 Batman movie we wouldn’t have any superhero movies at all. Batman (1989) is one of the most influential movies of all time.
