This is what I am looking at for citrus trees. Working with cultivars from only a few degrees south, I hope to speciate them to hardier producers. Ultimately, the goal is selfreplication

The Dutch made the color orange, it was just considered a shade of red at that time. Willem of Orange was named orange from the region of orange where they grew oranges why they chose that as their color

I learned in unversity that charles Darwin lied in his findings regularly. 😢 so was this finch finding one of these

So is there a finch that only eats orange carrots or what?
😊

Following this video/short I was wondering if more speciation is better, apparently it could be considered that it is because it creates more biodiversity.

I don’t think he knows what that word actually means. He’s certainly using it in the wrong context.

Geoff, you have a basic misunderstanding of evolution, as do many. Evolution is merely the spontaneous mutation of organisms, the causations of the mutation are irrelevant to the exercise (there are many causes, from cosmic rays, to radiation, to chemicals ingested to spontaneous cell malfunction). Millions of mutations are NOT beneficial, some live to procreate and pass the mutation to their progeny, most die without passing a hereditary mutation the progeny. In every form of life there are these mutations, none are “intelligent” in the sense of a guiding intelligence. The mutations are NOT “aiming” towards a point or improvement, they simply “are”. The mutations are NOT gradual developments towards an aim, they are spontaneous changes, not incremental improvements. The mutations merely “happen”, for example, one of the most cherished apple varieties arose from one branch of an apple tree that a grower observed and then used as parent/donor material for grafts!

Finchs becoming other finch is NOT SPECIATION it is adaptation. QUIT LYING

You're talking hybridizing, not speciation.

And because the Royal colour is Orange that's because they are Protestant; Willaim of Orange comes to mind

you misuse "speciation." ALL "Darwin's Finches" can and do freely interbreed, and, given the chance, produce fertile young, and were thus of a species. i think a far more accurate word is "select": different islands favored, i.e., "selected for, " different genes already present in aboriginal individuals, producing new varieties, not new species.

Darwin. The 22yr old that visited Galapogos Islands ONE TIME only and went off on his own fantastical imagination to mislead the entire inhabited world.

Love your content but on this. I don't think that word means what you think it means or whoever wrote the article you read.
