Hyperglycemia is a condition that requires emergency treatment. Typically, patients with diabetes get hyperglycemia or high blood sugar. Lack of sufficient insulin in type 1 diabetes patients can lead to high blood sugar. Type 2 diabetes patients get it when their body’s insulin is ineffective.

There can be several causes of high blood sugar, including:
Skipping or forgetting to take insulin
Consuming more carbohydrates
Stress
Illness
Exercising less than normal
The dawn phenomenon (early morning surge in hormones)

If you suspect hyperglycemia, it is essential to seek treatment immediately since it can lead to life-threatening conditions. Early hyperglycemia symptoms are blood sugar higher than 180 mg/dL, increased thirst, frequent urination, headache, and fatigue. If not treated immediately, it can lead to nerve, blood vessel, and organ damage.

There are not too many differences present between hyperglycemia vs hypoglycemia. While hyperglycemia is high blood sugar (greater than 180 mg/dL), hypoglycemia is low blood sugar (less than 70 mg/dL). If not treated immediately, both of them can have severe consequences and may even lead to death.

I am a 45 Y/O Male
Here lately I had been having this horrible anxiety when I would lay down at night. Sometimes during the day but very rare. I also was peeing a lot, my shins have been itchy, I’ve had dizziness. Basically all of the signs of Hyperglycemia. This anxiety it was causing me was horrible. It would just come out of nowhere. But I also have been consuming way too much many Dr Peppers, eating a lot of carbs and a lot of Ice Cream at bedtime. Yes. I am in Great shape. 5-11’ 188 lbs with an athletic build. I have been walking about 25 miles a week for exercise. But last night was the first time I googled anything. About my blood sugar being to high because I was feeling like I was having a good night and I went and got some orange sherbet. Then I ate quite a bit of watermelon. I know right. But anyways I have been really scared about getting these fits where I feel like the world is coming to an end. I mean they have been bad. Last night after consuming the food I felt my heart rate go up. I felt the panic coming. It clicked in my head. Today is the first day I haven’t drank a Dr Pepper in a couple of years. I’ve only had water and a little bit of Gatorade. I’m not 100% yet but just cutting out the drinks, the sweet creamer in my coffee and the ice cream and sweets….. Just because that I feel 1000% better. This is day one. I’m laying in bed right now and I feel at ease. I feel like I finally found the problem and what I need to be doing to correct it. I wrote this whole thing out just in case one person comes here and is looking at some symptoms and saying I don’t know. I hope that this helps you in some sort of way. Thank you for these beautiful videos for people like me to turn to to figure out how to navigate thru this life. To anyone who read this I pray you have the Peace of God in whatever situation you are going thru. But there are people who care. Never give up.

Exercise is not always the answer as every doctor will tell you. If exercise stresses your body n increases cortisol then your blood sugar levels will rise. Strength n muscle training might work better
