I also do a 599/ month grocery budget, and breakfast at my house is often pancakes. We have to buy eggs, so I found a vegan pancake recipe that's just as fluffy and delicious as the regular! 5 ingredients can really make that pantry stretch, especially on days there's not much left!
As for the pie, as delicious as it looks, SAVE YOUR CUTTINGS! My German grandma made what she called kringles. Take your cuttings, roll them out, spread any oil and cinnamon sugar mixture, then fold in half and cut into strips. Bake as you would crust, until cooked through. The best treat I've ever had! Often I'll make pie dough just to make the kringles!

My mom always rolled out her extra pie dough and cut it into strips and sprinkled it with cinnamon and sugar and baked it! That was quite a treat! You should check out 3 Rivers Homestead! Jessica is amazing! She literally waste NOTHING! Thanks for Sharing!

I like putting the sausage in with fried rice too. I have not added cabbage though but think I will try that. (all other veggies plus rice I do the same). I also like fried cabbage with onion and garlic, salt and pepper as side dish. Also sometimes I cut small wedges of cabbage, and put in a frying pan with water that comes half ways up the cabbage. Add 1-2 pats of butter to water, salt and pepper the cabbage wedges. Cook at a slow boil (put lid on for cooking to speed up process. Stick sharp knife in cabbage to test for doneness. Remove with large slotted spoon) Simple but good. I got this from husband of good friend. Said his Mom use to make this when he was growing up.

The pie is beautiful!! I’ve made cobblers from that berry mix and they are awesome. I cut my extra pie dough in pieces and toss it into the cobbler filling. Like a pie crust dumpling inside the pie. It’s delicious! The fried rice is what I make here a lot. I use sausages in mine often. It’s delicious.You did wonderful in this video as always. I’m getting more and more ideas from you on using it up and stretching it out and watching it come out amazing!

I'm also going to give you my "aunt Orleatha's pie crust recipe. The most beautiful and best tasting crust ever!!
5 cups flour
2 cups lard
1tsp salt
7 ounces of 7 up
(Yep! 7 ounces)
Makes 2 double crust pies and it rolls out beautifully and the 7 up makes it tender. I usually just sprinkle the top with sugar and it makes it sparkle!!

You can also use raw beans for pie weights, after baking save the cooled off beans in a jar for future use as weights.
