Comcast/Xfinity Data caps: what I'm doing about it

Comcast is instituting Dtacaps in the Northeast region in 2021, and has had them in most of their other markets. The practices are unfair and unfriendly to consumers. If you're in a area where you can switch you should do so immediately.

How do I feel about paying the $30? I’m not happy about it one bit. I feel like the monopoly has to end and the cable lines should be opened up. None of this one service provider per area BS. The service they provide, for the price, is high and they get away with it in large part because of that. By the way, good job hiding your naughty browser history during the Speedtest videos.

Down with Xfinity data caps! I’m just jealous I’m stuck with them here since there’s no real high speed alternative, which is partially how they get away with it. Everyone in a region with Fios or another fiber alternative should switch!

Prior to being at home this year we would have been fine. But now I have students in zoom calls, watching videos, and on sites doing homework. The rest of us are online more not only in front of pc/laptop but phones on wifi. It is really a horrible time to do this.

I had Comcast and very recently I went over my data cap and I got spectrum cable now

As a former employee of Comcast I would just like to say, fuck Comcast! They are and have always been predatory on their practices and pricing. Padding their year over year profits not by offering better service, but by fucking over their customers. Most of which are customers not by choice, but necessity. And I totally agree that the timing of this seems pretty out of touch. Invoking this during the pandemic where many aren’t working, or those that are working are doing so from home, is pretty shit. They are a disgusting company. Good video bud, keep up the good work.

I've have centurylink for the last 10years and been using 25mbs last few years. Going with comcast 300-600mbs, massive difference. Hope I'll be able to get fiber in my area though

Yes, here in northern Virginia (Loudoun County) I'm moving to FIOS in the next 2 months. After almost 20 years with them, it is time to say goodbye.

I live in a family of 5, and we only do streaming services, and we don't have subscriptions. Me and my brother have school, we have used over 350 gigs over the data plan. Xfinity just isn't viable anymore

It won't be long there will eather be no cable internet or there going to have to drop there data caps and lower prices. With starlink internet and 5g starting. My local power company is running fiber internet

You cut the cord to try and save money and then your streaming puts you over the cap... hey Comcast, just because you can doesn’t mean you should.
