This scene is hilarious when you know the servant was voiced by Grey DeLisle, just like Azula. In other words...

But knowing this fact is also hidden symbolism, that Azula lost herself

Can I just say I love how expressive Azula is? A lot of people seem afraid to give their “pretty characters” big expressions, because I guess it would make them less pretty? Thank goodness Avatar doesn’t do that.

What drives me crazy as about this scene as that not only does the handmaiden she banished look like Azula, but she was voiced by the same person. It’s almost like she banished herself.

Don’t know if you’ve heard this theory, but the person giving her the cherry pit is voiced by the same person as Azula. This could be symbolically showing that Azula is doing that to her self and it’s a sign of her mental breakdown, and to reinforce this, the other servants washing her hair and stuff they don’t have a look of horror or anything like fear that they could be banished to. They have shock like they’re looking at something that isn’t there.
