My personal opinion of the game is how similar each Tropico game feels to it's predecessor, sometimes the sequels feel more like an expansion pack to me. But it's also true that if it ain't broke you don't need to fix it.

It's sad that a poor and shallow review done by a beginner Tropico player have such a great impact on people's opinion about the game. This guy obviously does not understand the game mechanics and does not know how to interpret the data given to understand the economy of the island. Please do not listen to this guy and go find a better review on the game. Just because it's IGN does not mean they specialise in all games.

You can zoom in and out when placing a building you hold down the ctrl key while zooming out!!!!

dude, the game is awesome, you don’t even know how to play. By the end of the colonial era, if you renew your mandate for a while, you should have $250k easily before being independent. You don’t understand the economics at all, also, how is your approval 0? That’s insane, you have to be trying to make it 0

The reviewer saying you can't zoom in or out while there's a window open in the right side of the game that says "ctrl+mouse wheel = zoom". Makes you wonder how reliable the rest of this review actually is...

he didnt even mention the new campaign mechanics, new islands or tunnels oh and if you actually played tropico 5 you would understand thtb problem u had with the road placement. Ign needs to buck up on the ppl they allow to do reviews (actual returning players not noobs)

One thing I noticed in Tropico 6 is unlike the ones before it the public opinion can drop drastically and quickly even if you are in the green on keeping your city stable because you can have a ton of undecided voters. The other issue I've seen is the factions just machine gun you from multiple factions all at once with unreasonable demands. Yeah I expect that now and then and maybe even two requests but it gets ridiculous and you don't dare complete it right away even when able because you know the game is just going to machinegun you with fresh new demands in a mere few days if not immediately.

I don't think he understood that budget also affects productivity. Yes cut back wages on entertainment buildings, but not your sugar field and rum factory.
