Gentlemen, it has been a privilege playing with you tonight

As a Christian, I loved this series because it shows more than one side of the argument, with regards to Faith - and it treats Faith with respect. None of us have the answer.

Midnight Mass is by far the the most incredible miniseries I have ever seen, and certainly one of the best television series I have ever seen. So carefully and genuinely crafted from start to finish. And no TV series has ever made me feel the massive swells of emotion that Midnight Mass did. Never saw the ending coming, but I thought it was perfect. Bold and unexpected and heartbreaking.

The scene of Sheriff Hassan bowing in prayer beside his boy and then collapsing keeps coming up when I listen to this hymn.

"I think I killed my mom."
"I've done some things that are wrong too, can you forgive me?"
"Yes."

Bev screaming in pain and fear is so satisfying also she is clearly the only one feeling pain as she dies.

Where as everyone else just peacefully and seemingly painlessly burn away singing together the hymn nearer my God to thee.

And accepting their fate and feeling remorse for what they have done.

The cutoff at the end is so wonderfully, gut-wrenchingly perfect. Couldn't have asked for better.

I'm an atheist, but this song slaps when it sounds sincere. loved it when Riley's mom started singing it. rewatching that moment frequently. great acting

Nearer, my God, to thee,
Nearer to thee!
E'en though it be a cross
That raiseth me.
Still all my song shall be
Nearer, my God, to thee,
Nearer, my God, to thee,
Nearer to thee!
Though like the wanderer,
The sun gone down,
Darkness be over me,
My rest a stone,
Yet in my dreams I'd be
Nearer, my God, to thee,
Nearer, my God, to thee,
Nearer to thee!
There let the way appear,
Steps unto heav'n;
All that thou sendest me,
In mercy giv'n;
Angels to beckon me
Nearer, my God, to thee,
Nearer, my God, to thee,
Nearer to thee!
Then with my waking thoughts
Bright with thy praise,
Out of my stony griefs
Bethel I'll raise;
So by my woes to be
Nearer, my God, to thee,
Nearer, my God, to thee,
Nearer to thee!
Still all my song shall be
Nearer, my God, to thee,
Nearer, my God, to thee,
Nearer to thee!

This was an incredible mini series. It treated my faith with respect and asked good questions about redemption and false faith/the judgement of man.
Better than mocking those who turn the other cheek, it sat with them.

Personally for me, watching this show and hearing this song makes me think of my grandfather Saul. He passed away from Cancer back when I was 15. He was actually an atheist (like Riley) and when he came down with the Cancer, my mom had to go down to New Jersey to take care of him. But something crazy happened to him. Moments before he died, he got a glimpse of what the other side looked like and he said "Oh my God. I've been an atheist for so long. How could I have not have seen this?" He passed away peacefully. Hearing this song now makes me think of him. I hope that he's watching over me and he's proud of me.

I cried so much at the end of Hill House and Bly Manor... But I was inconsolable as this song played at the end of midnight Mass. I probably cried for a good hour after it ended and had to be by myself for a little bit. As someone who was a member of a cult for a long time, who deconstructed a d left my faith entirely, the series spoke to me I'm both the dangers of fanaticism and also the beauty in faith, even of the faith is something you eventually set aside like Riley did. And that the loss of belief doesn't mean life has to lose meaning.

A great series .. I’m just happy that there’s a series showed the hurdles that Muslims face daily in each and every little conversation or incident … it made me emotional and feeling a little bit of justice towards us
