That last scene where the band played “Nearer my God to Thee” as the ship was sinking in the movie “Titanic” (1997) was my favorite scene of the entire movie.

Wow, oh my goodness! You just blew me away. There is a connection with music. What the violinists did was noble, true and fearless. They all knew there time was about to come as well as the others. It gets me every time I watch the movie. And I love that you used your great-grandfather’s bow to play this song!! The painting your grandmother is beautiful and it suits very well with the performance!

Jacob's dream in Genesis 28:11 is what this song is about. There is so much beauty in art, the closer (nearer) we get to God. This song and this rendition are proof.

Thank you so much, what a lovely technique you have. I played this to my daughter who was shrugging off her violin practice, she jumped straight back on and when I printed out the sheet music, wouldn't stop playing it. We played it as a duet on my piano.
