Thank you for the videos, I used to come to Mallorca years ago and stay in Santa Ponca, but loved Palma Nova too, brings back many happy memories of times spent on the island. I think it’s unlikely I will ever get back now, so channels like yours are great to watch to see what’s changed, or what’s still there.

Just back from Palma Nova/ Magaluf this week, got to say after going for 30 plus years it's wearing thin for us now. I still love the place however the costs now have gone over the top.

We normally pay around £2200 for three of us h/b this year it cost us £3600 for the same holiday plus I was stung with 108 euros tourist tax on arrival.

Ok so that's for starters, next was the price of drinks, we don't go to the strip but we like nice bars along the coast to chill in. Most bars are now charging 5 euros a pint we were shocked.

What else shocked us was the flight we flew out in July and flew back in August both flights had spare seats infact alot of empty seats however the resort's were full, these resorts are no longer British resorts they are international which is great however it does show the Brits are fed up with the price rises now.

I've already booked in advance to go back in October so it will be interesting to see what it's like then.

I've also been to Cala d'Or for the first time, that was in June again a very expensive resort.

Before anyone says anything I'm not talking about 1.50 euro pints here I would expect around 3euros which would be acceptable.

Nope we won't be having a two week/ main holiday there again it's lost its appeal.

This was the plan all along for the local government, they want to get the Americans in and they are welcome to it. I did speak to more Americans than I ever have there however they were not impressed with the resort. Telling me it stinks it's a dump and I have to agree.

So where does my tourist tax go certainly not to improve magaluf
