California declares state of emergency over wildfires

The governor of California has declared a state of emergency as a fast moving wildfire continues to spread near the Yosemite National Park, threatening thousands of homes.

Around 400 firefighters are battling the Oak fire, which is the largest to hit California so far this year - fuelled by drought and exceptionally high temperatures.

Decades ago, many areas in California we're declared "assigned risk" categories. Insurance is very expensive and doesn't cover everything. Some carriers required sprinkler systems. Don't know if insurance companies will continue to carry high fire risk areas. Florida is also seeing insurance coverage disappear. 🙄🙄🙄

Back in the 50's thru the early 70's we had what was known as fire breaks until the sierra club moaned about how it hurt the environment. We not only stopped the practice but also stopped cleaning the forest.

Building codes are all wrong for the location, no wonder it had to happen.

The last time many of the fires were set alight on purpose.
The Forestry service was watching them being set alight along a road with satellites.

Seems California is already in a state of emergency, since March 2020. Emergencies don't last that long. They are of short duration, like a fire threat, tsunami, flood, etc.

need more firefighters, more vehicles (more fire trucks), more firefighting helicopters, more pilots, new pilots (education?),
undestroyable water reservoir tanks? (across the country, near streets, near forests, inside forests etc + GPS tracking?), many of those,
additional equipment? handheld thermal cameras? (detection of hidden hot spots etc, + mobile infrared cameras could locate people or wounded animals in smoke-filled areas), infrared cameras with extended temperature range?, flying camera drones? (wide area surveillance), wearing portable radios for all firefighters.
become a financial supporter?

become a volunteer firefighter? (+ driver? (pump operator), become an instructor? (fire and rescue?, emergency medical services?, advanced driving techniques?, advanced first aid? animal rescue?)
+ caution corona etc?

space junk (radiation or heat), glass bottles, broken bottles + shards, old trash, waste?, cigarettes (drivers who throw their cigarettes out the window, cigarette butts thrown into nature, + cigarette butts are toxic plastic pollution + cigarette butts leach toxic chemicals into water), matches, braziers, barbecues, cooking in nature etc, lightnings, tractor, truck exhaust pipes, + other vehicle exhaust pipes? mufflers? or other vehicle parts?, motorbike, scooter, motorcycle catalyst converter, exhausts = causes of fire?? (in dry areas + vegetation) (residential areas, roads, avenues, freeways, country roads, forest roads, farms, farm roads etc)
