Got a Cat in Heat? Reset it Like a Router!

My Strawberry cannot be neutered (sorry I meant spayed, always get the word mixed up) yet, as we are dealing with her liver problems (she seems to have a weak liver since she was rescued, and cannot use anesthesia without risking not waking up ever). So when she is in heat she beats her BF Burrito if he doesn't comply... Which is a bit hard for him to keep up, as he is already spayed (and frankly 20-40 times is a lot of sex a day!)

I found online there is a pressure point but initially I thought people were sticking their fingers into her bum, but it turned out the videos' angles were shot poorly!!! The pressure point does exist and it does calm her so she doesn't feel horrible nor beat her uncomplying BF....

I never knew you could use a pressure point to trick them into thinking they had been mounted. It’s useful information to know even though I really hope I never have to use it.

To clarify: if it was pain, she would run away, or immediately turn to bite, or hiss, or scratch. Her ears would be pinned, and her fur would probably be raised a bit. Remember that when reading animal body language, you must look at them as a whole. You can't only magnify one thing (such as a meow) and say, "oh that's a distress meow". The rest of her body language shows that she's pretty relaxed. She's just enjoying the relief. 😅😂

I thought this was the weirdest thing when I first saw it - but let me say, IT WORKS! I am fostering a young female before her spay surgery and she started acting funny. Low and behold I put two and two together and she’s in heat - all night mating calls roaming the house. This trick worked like a charm, back to making biscuits and purring on the bed.

Thanks I have female cat who’s like 6 months old, getting spay in a month since scheduled is tough but at least not expensive. This will help her for time being.

We've had one cat, and when she'd go into heat, she always sought out my husband for bum scratches. We didn't make the connection at first, but after talking to a vet, we learned my husband was essentially relieving her. That cat was head over heels for my husband. 😂😅

this is so helpful! my cat can’t get spayed due to medical reasons as well, and people have told me to just get rid of her. i personally don’t care for the noise, i’m so use to it now, but when i have company over i get complaints. no matter what i tell them- that she cannot help the yoweling, it’s instincts, etc no one cares :/
