It's not an actual default if you're the one refusing to take their money. Russia has the money, is willing to pay, but is being blocked from paying. Western financial institutions are the ones in actual default of their obligations.

When I can't meet my obligation to pay you, I am in default. When the bank can't meet its obligation of handing me my money when I want it, the bank is in default. Russia is default because the USD financial system is in default

This default will not impact Russian reputation. It does impact the Western reputation though. If you can't get your money back because your government is blocking the payment then question your government, not Russia.

When Russia took the loan in US dollars it is expected to be paid back in US dollars. I don't loan money to people and expect to be paired back in apples.

I find it hard to believe they defaulted without some shenanigans. They sell $3b in gas a month. Minus the 10% overhead but because there selling something they get 100% free, they pocket like $2.7b of it
