VC/former Y-Combinator partner Garry Tan opens up about topics he hasn't revealed anywhere else: growing up with an alcoholic father, going through therapy, learning to pull back the mask, and recognizing when expectations can be self-destructive.

We share a familiar story: a couple of young Asian guys from a family of immigrants in America, building a career in tech, and eventually partnering at Y-Combinator. He also runs a popular YouTube channel, which has inspired me to create my own online content.
