Press conference with Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola following their 2-1 loss to Man Utd.

He talks about losing the game having led with two minutes of normal time left, says he can’t put his finger on what is going wrong and ultimately he’s not good enough at the moment, says he’s never been a magician but until now has always been able to find a way, talks about the individual errors that seem to be creeping into his team - saying they look more anxious on the ball, whether he can be ruthless enough to dismantle this side to tackle some of the issues they are facing but says it would be too easy to blame all the issues on the players, says he is here to try to turn it around and says he knew they were not in control of the match even when they were winning.

Its so strange watching these, pep is not use to these situations and you can tell, he outright said 'I'm not good enough' if that was any other manager at another team those words would have been the nails in the coffin, but pep is comfortable in his positions, he doesn't feel like he has to fight for his job like managers at lower teams who are more use to this situation. He has the ability to be open and honest right now because of his previous successes.

They never dispute that Pep is one of the greatest coaches of our time, regardless of everything that is going on with him. I only respect him because I understand how frustrated he is.

I never thought I`d say this, but maybe he needs a break, and this is 0% criticism. It`s just one of those things that happens to everyone. Anyone that works in stressful and demanding jobs witnesses burn out and nobody is immune. There is also the consideration of the serotonin cycle, when you have success the serotonin flows, but you can`t stay on that high forever, it´s like a drug addiction, then when the success stops you go into a negative cycle, in both the upwards and downwards directions these are feedback mechanisms that accelerate in either direction. There could be an exception to that, Psychopaths, but I think they play in the right way, won in the right way and now are losing while still playing attractive football, no shame in that, enjoy it and the cycle will reverse soon. They just need to smile and keep their cool.

When you and your team won everything, is hard to give the same motivation as the 1st, or 2nd time, they've been in the top for like 5 years, won everything as a club, Guardiola needs a new team, and City need new players, which come with that desire of winning because they've never won before, i think this is the current state of City honestly, every big team that wins alot will eventually lead to this.

I won’t feel sorry for him as a United fan because our managers of late have gone through much tougher times while winning very little If anything and dealing with a huge lack of support and structure, though I truly believe Amorim is the right Manager in virtually every way that I can see so far for us. I do respect pep’s humility however and all that he as offered to football. He is the second best of all time after Sir Alex in my book. He will bounce back whether City do or not and they still have a lot of quality. I want United to get back to their best again and all the top teams to be competitive including the whole league, it’s more exciting and keeps our league the best!

As a United fan, I am enjoying City's struggles because we all know s how good Pep and City have been for the last 8 years. As long as City stay out of the bottom 3, he keeps his job. It's only a matter of time before they figure it out.

I don't get why injuries are all of a sudden an excuse for journalists but when ten hag had like 80 injuries no one except united fans bats an eye

A great man's man, refusing to blame his players, his. calmness under pressure when he must want to react angrilly to some leading questions !

I'm a liverpool fan but pep is goat, he blames himself and not the players nor injuries. I have huge respect for this guy.

It's quite clear that the Rodri injury has messed them up good and proper, however I do think that if it were that simple, you could substitute someone in and get results. It would be easy for city to spunk 80m.on Zubimendi in January, but I'm not sure it's that simple. He has a core of individuals that he works hard but it appears that a cycle of a great side is ending. Guardiola works incredibly hard and he needs a rest. He will come again. The City side needs revamping. The skill is to revitalise a side whilst still.getting top results. That is a skill set very few have. Anyone seriously thinking Guardiola's job is at risk is in fantasy land. This guy will work 100 hour weeks for as long as it takes to get city back.

From a Man Utd fan, huge respect for Guardiola. He’s a great human being outside of football too.

He's achieved unbelievable success, the standard is too high for these players to maintain and they are burning out.

It's the humility for me.
It's the reason why as a Man City fan you can believe this man can turn this around and I can't wait for that day!
