I’m a licensed Health/Life Insurance licensed agent in HR my job is new hire employee benefits specialist (but my title at work is Benefits Counselor), so I am responsible for medical, dental vision, supplemental, and life insurance enrollments with / for the new employees getting them enrolled. I am at $55k salary and every month I get a 10% bonus which equals out $60, 500 annual salary. You’re spot on! These are my numbers!!!

Incomes can widely vary based on captive or independent. When you have a salary or safety net, the incomes you mention are doable, it is recommend that newbies start out as captive before venturing out on your own. Most will fail in the first year going it alone. My agency did over 1.2 million and on track for 1.5 this year, but many years of hard work, it is definitely more rewarding on the independent side, but not for everyone.
