In this video we take a look at the gaming and emulation performance of Intel's i9-13900K and how it compares side by side with the i9-12900K. More cores and higher clock speeds result in better performance, but is it worth the upgrade?

A great review! The RPCS3 comparisons are very helpful. Did you enable AVX-512 on your i9-12900K and in the emulator settings?

THANK YOU. By showing me your stuff, you save me a lot of time and I don't have to test it. Magnificent work brother.

Love to see RPCS3 benchmarks! You could make your results usable by specifying AVX-512 on or off and including power consumption

Thank You!!! I've been debating on upgrading my CPU but it's not enough for me to upgrade if I don't upgrade the gpu as well.

Was avx512 activated for the 12th gen cpu or was this stock for both? Sorry if I missed it in the video.

Why do you only test in 1080p and not 4K? I haven't played 1080p games in years.

You would get alot higher FPS if you turn off E-cores and turn on AVX512 for RCPS3

Question about your RPCS3 test, even thought the 12900k was above 60 it looked a lot choppier than the 13900. Was it noticeable during testing?
do you think the frame times played a factor

My 12900k is ideal. I'm gaming at ultrawide and 4k and I'm not going to able to tell a difference unless I'm sitting staring at a chart.

Am I the only one here that wastes money and constanly feels "I should buy the 13900K now, eventhough I have 12900k"

Thanks for the content. Was AVX-512 on for the 12900k?

So in short, if I already own a 12900k in box waiting to be put together in my new build and my main purpose will be gaming and minimal productivity, the 13900k is not worth it to upgrade to?
Due to the wait on cheaper DDR5 memory (which I have now), I'm not sure what to do now, stay on 12th gen or go for 13th gen.

Just out of curiosity (from a non-gamer), what is the fps difference (visually) that can be detected without actually having to measure it. e.g. is a 10% difference noticeable? From the visuals in the video, there did not seem to be much of a discernible difference to me between the processors' performance.

Hey bud, your 12900K was reaching 105 degrees at some spots. Wasn't that affecting it's performance?

Awesome, thanks for the RPCS3 testing!

Those CPU Temps are just ridiculous. I cant belive how much is 12900k hotter and at what temps is running... crazy.

Nice to see benchmarks on RPCS3. You should try benchmarking more demanding games such as Midnight Club LA and Red Dead Redemption.

How come the 12900 is hotter then 13900 ?
I was looking at another comparisson between these two and it was the other way around, 13900 hotter, but here is the opposite.
