New climate change report issues stark warning

Governments around the world must take "rapid, far-reaching and unprecedented changes in all aspects of society" to avoid disastrous levels of global warming, says a new report from the global scientific authority on climate change.

I hope people can appreciate what this report really means. We now have 12 years to avert "catastrophic" climate change. We have already entered the range of damaging climate change. "Catastrophic" means "civilization altering". It is not a term scientists use lightly... and as a scientist myself, I find it incredibly scary to see this term being used. It is a term meant to convey the gravest level of danger.
