I love that "Here Comes the Bride" analogy. Your guide is the first one that actually made my toms sound good.

I can like this video even before I watch it because I know what those toms sound like 😅🙌🏽

Never knew the importance of cleaning debris from the head to the drums and the here comes the bride melody is just brilliant. Just in time before I re-skin our church kit. Thanks fam! #gotpocket.

This is like behind the scene stuff.

Tuning your drums really takes time and patience . You just really need to keep at it, just like J has been doing on @19:38.
Really appreciate this video, this really helps me and validate that the best sounding drums has been spent time on tuning.

I’m so glad you started with the 12 inch tom, I always have the most difficulty with those.

Hey man, much thanks for the detailed drum kit tuning process. I am tearing down my kit and I'm following your step by step procedure to clean, retune, and then start sounding awesome. As I note I have a PhD in physics and I wasn't tuning my drum kit properly, thanks again.

I've been tuning drums for a long time and I never thought of using here comes the Bride Melody I've always used George of the jungle Melody interesting keep doing what you doing that's some great wisdom

Sounds great!
I usually tune my drums about 2 tones lower than the tone on the shell. Then they sound the same pitch as the shell. And the resonant head a little higher than the other. It’s very good and easy to compare with a tuning fork app.
I tried this new method recently, have not recorded yet.

Bro tune hitting that Toms were so soothing for some reason. @ 14:10

that's fantastic because I finally applied this last method (after using tons of other), and the by feel and ears worked perfectly on my toms ! I checked the note/frequency of each head, and I don't have an uniform interval between heads for each toms xD : so all in the feel, the ears and the "respect" of the drum without stricts formula# and algebra, no hassles.
Thank you sir !
